Director Commercial Management (m/f/d)

The focus of this role is to provide commercial management excellence from a strategic and  transactional level to ensure most effective operational spend across the managed adidas facilities as well as all service contracts attached to this.  


  • Create consistent financial management procedures, standards and policies for all managed adidas facilities
  • Set up a global data and BI structure to establish KPI tracking and analysis of spend
  • Establish cost benchmarking within and from outside the organisation
  • Identify areas of improvement and pro-actively drive continuous improvement of operational and contracted spend
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting in close collaboration with Finance / Controlling for all GWP internal functions as well as for all direct managed facilities
  • Provide direction for budgeting, forecasting and contract management to facilities not directly managed by GWP
  • Take full ownership to manage opportunities and risks for the budget target envelop across all facilities included
  • In close collaboration with Procurement, lead the definition of scope and service levels that should be contracted as well as commercial terms for all mayor local, regional and global contracts
  • Lead regular business reviews and action plans with key contracted partners
  • Establish a professional foundation for contract and quality management across the GWP team
  • Pro-actively influence the future direction and ambition of GWP function
  • Set up a portfolio lifecycle process with valid forecasting for upcoming property investments
  • Role model the adidas leadership principles
  • Manage, coach, develop and train team members, input into performance reviews, provide feedback and allocate work considering complexity and experience level.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to think outside the box to ensure continuous, strategic and conceptual improvement.

  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of controlling systems (SAP) and Integrated Workplace Management systems (IWMS)
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) in German and English and facilitation skills (small and large groups), especially when interacting with different levels of business
  • Focus on service and customer satisfaction, people management/leadership culture
  • Motivated, pro-active and innovative implementing company targets
  • Project management, quality management and procurement experience


Requisite Education and Experience/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year college or university degree with focus on Facilities Management, Economics or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in mid- to large-scale project or program management
  • 7 years of experience in managing a team
