Senior Specialist Inventory Management EMC

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

  • Your key task is to help reduce Emerging Markets Central excess inventory levels for adidas in the most efficient way to maximize sales and profitability.  
  • Help facilitate the EMC inventory review with key stakeholders, providing insights, aligning on key topics for discussion and driving follow up actions.
  • Work with the merchandizing team to ensure Factory Outlets an meet sales targets, via excess or planned production.
  • With Wholesale, provide visibility on Free to Sell and Future Free to Sell and drive action where necessary.
  • Drive the Inventory Days Lasting (IDL) agenda by agreeing targets and track performance on monthly basis. Call out risks and develop action plans with channels and Supply Chain Management (SCM).
  • Act as SPOC for EMC on EM and global inventory initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

Inventory management and IDL:

  • Align inventory and IDL targets with EM and track performance. Call out risks and develop action plans where necessary.
  • Drive the monthly inventory reviews between HUB and EMC.
  • Work with FP&A, SCM and DTC to consolidate data and presentations.
  • Captures risks and opportunities and key discussion topics.
  • Establish actions to help drive down excess inventory levels.
  • Support business to help facilitate excess inventory (FTS) movements within and outside of EMC.

 

Excess Inventory strategy:

  • Work cross functionally with DP, SCM, DTC and Sales Managers to optimize clearance potential and actions.
  • Support developing key strategies and initiatives to maximize profitability.

 

Inventory planning:

  • Monthly Inventory forecasting – Review the supply plan and sales plan monthly to calculate inventory levels by country, channel and season. Ensure inventory forecasts are broken down at these granular levels to support regional and channel-specific sales strategies.
  • Coordinate with inbound managers across countries to incorporate monthly inbound shipment plans into the inventory forecasting process. This ensures that inbound stock is accurately reflected in the forecasted inventory on hand, providing a complete picture of available and arriving stock.

Inventory reporting:

  • Excess inventory reporting – develop enhanced reporting to highlight excess/FTS and action for monthly reviews. Support decision making and optimize profitability.
  • Track monthly and quarterly inventory. Support finance with EMC monthly updates.

 

KPIs

  • Agree inventory and IDL targets and help steer relevant KPIs.
  • Work with DTC to establish FO excess requirements.
  • Support article excess actions

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3+ years of work experience in demand planning, inventory management, finance function or a similar field
  • Sporting goods industry preferred
