Role Purpose & Organizational Impact

This role partners closely with the Director, Business Development and the MD’s Office to drive execution of the India business strategy. It plays a critical role in prioritizing cross‑functional strategic initiatives, strengthening governance and processes, and enhancing organizational effectiveness. The position is central to shaping and delivering India’s ambition of undisputed market leadership through disciplined execution, insight‑led decision‑making, and strong stakeholder alignment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Execution & PMO (60%)

  • Drive execution of Global, EM, and India strategies in partnership with the BD Director.
  • Prioritize and manage cross‑functional strategic initiatives and key local and global projects.
  • Own India business reporting including Board updates, EM updates, and market visit materials.
  • Collaborate with EM BD teams on market intelligence, breakthrough initiatives, and best‑practice sharing.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and organizational effectiveness across India.
  • Track progress against the Strategic Business Plan (SBP) and coordinate cross‑functional priorities with India SLT.
  • Support India SLT governance through structured management meetings, progress tracking, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Define, track, and analyze critical KPIs linked to India’s strategic priorities and vision.
  • Analyze business performance and identify opportunities for growth and value creation.

Strategic Planning (40%)

  • Support development of the India Strategic Business Plan in alignment with EM and Global strategies.
  • Ensure strategic alignment and effective translation of Cluster and EM strategies into local execution.
  • Proactively assess and drive changes to business processes and operating models in response to growth opportunities.
  • Monitor macro‑economic, socio‑economic, retail, sportswear, and competitive trends to inform decision‑making with relevant insights and KPIs.

  • Business Development teams across EM clusters
  • Global and EM Strategy & Business Development teams

Knowledge, Capabilities & Experience

  • Strong analytical capability with strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Solid financial acumen with ability to interpret and apply financial statements.
  • Proven ability to synthesize insights and build compelling narratives for senior leadership.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated people management skills and leadership potential.
  • High commercial awareness and sound business judgment.
  • Understanding of the sporting goods or comparable industry.
  • High agility, initiative, resilience, and results orientation.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Qualifications

  • University degree in business, preferably with a focus on sales or finance.
  • 6–8 years of experience in sporting goods /a comparable industry or consulting.
  • Cross‑functional experience, ideally across marketing, sales, or IT.
  • Experience working across different countries and cultures is preferred.
