Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
- The Assistant Manager- Warehouse operations will drive the achievement of all deliveries to the agreed service levels so as to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- He will need to operate a highly effective and efficient DC with a well-trained, motivated workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead warehouse teams across inbound, picking, packing, value-added services, outbound, returns, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Operations Manager and other DC managers to align resources with forecasted volumes and priorities, ensuring timely order fulfilment.
- Optimize staffing levels, shift planning, including temporary staff, to balance service quality and productivity within budget constraints.
- Implement process improvements to enhance compliance and operational excellence, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Maintain inventory integrity through cycle counts and strict adherence to the procedures using current systems.
- Monitor and evaluate team productivity using system tools and reports.
- Foster effective communication with DC peers to achieve short-term targets and drive long-term improvements.
- Oversee comprehensive training for all DC staff, focusing on productivity and safety.
- Ensure robust health and safety controls, collaborating with the Health and Safety Manager and ensuring staff training.
- Track and report on KPIs and SLAs; conduct weekly reviews with 3PL providers and submit timely reports to management and global teams.
- Reconcile SAP and WMS systems weekly, monitor EDI flows and daily housekeeping.
- Optimize DC capacity for inbound, outbound, and returns.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Management Experience in large and automated Distribution Centre serving many markets with achievement of high standards of service and efficiency.
- Strong understanding of interfaces of business and warehouse management systems.
- Experience managing cross-market business relationships and key customer accounts.
- Proven leadership of large teams in DC environments.
- Project Management expertise.
- Good understanding of retail store and E Commerce customers’ needs.
- Fluency in MS Excel and PowerBI.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Six to ten years of relevant experience, including at least eight years in management.
- Graduate degree from a recognised university.
- Relevant Logistics qualifications.
