Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

The Functional teams in GBS are responsible for driving the functional design of services and standard solutions, and supporting their implementation. They will also upskill, train, and develop the continuous improvement capability of GBS overall, as well as in market and functional teams. They will be concerned with ensuring quality, compliance, and productivity of the services and processes provided by GBS, managing continuous improvement initiatives, and shaping the digital solution agenda.

 

The Time Management Director is responsible for Time Management (above market frame and fit to local solutions) in all countries being in GBS scope. He or she will be responsible for managing the relationship with key partners of that sub-process, understanding customer needs and requirements to be able to input into the customer board, formulate the solution and service strategy, define KPIs for the service, specify the solution and system requirements, and manage and prioritise demand for the service.

He or she will also be responsible for identifying and initiating quality and continuous improvement activities for the sub-process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Define the above market frame for the Time Management areas (Corporate, Retail and DC)
  • Lead the end-to-end solution design & build for Time Management procesess
  • Manage the relationship with key customers within or outside the organization, understanding customer needs and requirements to input into the customer board, acting as a strong advisor
  • Manage and prioritise demand for the solution
  • Build and lead the implementation of the solution and service frameowrk for Time Management area with the overall solution roadmap
  • Create and drive agreement on KPIs/SLAs for the service (with both the customer and the operations organization)
  • Ensure adherence of the sub-process solution and connection into the overall HR solutions framework
  • Lead exchange with Operational teams and markets, risk reviews and cross-functional alignment
  • Maintain functional requirements for systems and processes
  • Coordinate improvement initiatives and harmonization efforts
  • Ensure compliance to above market regulations and support markets and operational teams to ensure the same for local obligations
  • Constantly question the status quo - you know the current trends, develop innovative approaches & tools and identify new business opportunities.
  • Manage the daily activities and performance of the Time Management team.
  • Represent adidas Time Management to and with relevant external counterparts.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of internal controls and documentation per International/Federal/State compliance requirements
  • Partner with market and regional teams to set the direction for time keeping, and attendance solutions (Corporate, Retail and DC) incl. synching with HR, IT, Finance.
  • Actively engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to ensure business objectives and priorities are met and executed effectively
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets expectations.
  • Act as the secondary escalation point for operational challenges, driving timely resolutions.
  • Assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Technical and working knowledge of Time and Attendance rules and standards.

  • Capable of coaching, guiding, and supporting teams or project groups.
  • Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, project management, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Able to plan, facilitate, and lead workshops (virtual and in‑person) with global teams.
  • Experienced in solution governance, defining requirements, and supporting system design.
  • Strong focus on process quality, compliance, and performance management.
  • Works independently, meets tight deadlines, and collaborates effectively across cultures.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Able to travel internationally when required.

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • 8+ years of global payroll processing and management experience, experience in global expansion and setup, and vendor management.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in HR, Accounting, Finance, Business, or other relevant or related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience overseeing the processing of multi-state and multi-country payrolls with hands-on responsibilities.
  • Experience in GBS, operations, or similar roles.
