The Sustainability team oversees and coordinates the adidas sustainability strategy and all its related programs. We work cross-functionally with various teams across the company (from design to reporting) and are also responsible for identifying trends and opportunities around sustainability topics.

 

We are looking for a data-centric intern that can support adidas’ sustainability ambitions, as well as strengthen the accuracy and efficiency of our data processes. This role will work across the sustainability team, contributing to broader ESG initiatives.

 
GROW YOUR CAPABILITIES THROUGH MEANINGFUL TASKS & PROJECTS
 

  • Support the collection, processing, and analysis of sustainability related data, finding solutions to reduce manual processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Contribute to carbon footprint calculations and science-based targets alignment (SBTi and SBTN).
  • Assist in climate-related risk and opportunity assessments aligned with TCFD.
  • Conduct industry benchmarking and analysis of sustainability best practices.
  • Support sustainability-related questionnaires, disclosures, and assessments (e.g. CDP).
  • Assist the team in developing insights and dashboards that improve KPI monitoring and decision-making.
  • Provide ad-hoc research and analysis on strategic sustainability topics such as biodiversity, water, and circularity to support the team’s daily and long-term objectives.

 

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU A MATCH

  • Student of Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Data Analytics or similar field, with a strong interest in sustainability and decarbonization.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), ideally German language skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills, proactive and a sense of responsibility.
  • Analytical understanding and skilled in making conclusions from key figures and concepts.
  • Strong analytical and data-handling skills, with proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, KNIME, and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn the use of new tools, to support our team in analytical tasks.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and open to work in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (SBTi, SBTN, TCFD, CDP) and life cycle assessment (LCA) is a strong advantage

  • Monthly gross allowance: non-compulsory internship 2.350,00€, compulsory internship 1.780,00€ (Difference due to different taxation, net will be the same) 

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Enrolled as full-time student for the complete duration of the internship 
  • Or in the so-called gap year between Bachelor and Master’s degree (gap year regulation only applicable to EU citizens due to working permit regulations)
  • Candidates in penultimate year of study preferred (following the internship, students should have maximum one year to graduate) 
  • Availability for the full duration of the internship from March 2026 – September 2026 
  • Ability to relocate to Herzogenaurach in Germany for the full duration of the internship
