Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven individual with a strong passion for consumer and market insights and the ability to build effective cross-functional partnerships across BU, Brand Activation, Planning, and Sales teams at Cluster, European, and Global level. The ideal candidate combines strong merchandising acumen with clear storytelling, attention to detail, and a strategic mindset, blending art and science to build compelling cross-category assortments for Zalando and deliver measurable commercial impact.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, own, and manage the assortment framework for Zalando to deliver against defined commercial and strategic targets.
  • Work closely with Merchandising and Sales to execute the product vision and value proposition for Zalando, ensuring both brand and account objectives are met.
  • Proactively connect and engage with BU counterparts to align on Zalando priorities, opportunities, and gaps, ensuring the required BU support to deliver the account plan.
  • Manage the end-to-end range proposition process, ensuring a seamless and efficient account interaction across all milestones.
  • Drive sales and market share growth, ensuring delivery of all commercial KPIs and strategic ambitions.
  • Support Sales in the creation of sell-in assets and represent the assortment at key milestones such as pre-line meetings and line reviews.
  • Deliver regular sell-through and performance analysis to relevant category teams, translating insights into actions for future seasonal planning.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the European consumer and retail landscape, including distribution, share of buy, competitive assortments, and pricing strategies.
  • Ensure full visibility of the account range proposition to local and global stakeholders through robust systems management and clear communication.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Consumer-focused with deep product and range understanding
  • Excellent understanding of balancing brand and commercial aspects to build channel specific GTM solutions
  • Business and commercial mindset with very good numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good experience and ability to manage multiple projects on cross-functional level
  • Flexibility to travel, domestic or internationally as required
  • Strong engaging and impactful presentation style
  • Good communication (both written and verbal) and facilitation skills (small and large groups) especially when interacting with different levels of business internally and externally
  • Microsoft office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in the area of Business, Marketing or Sales is preferred (or similar business experience)
  • At least 2-3 years professional experience in Category/Product Management/Merchandising and/or Sales, ideally with experience in the sports/fashion industry.
