Purpose:
We’ll never launch a product unless we consider it perfect. Our product development and sourcing teams create every shirt, every shoe and every piece of equipment for thousands of athletes and fashion lovers as if it was one of a kind. And it truly is, as they weave their passion into every single product. But translating designs, drawings and renderings into real products requires a lot of decision making.
As Manager Compliance Excellence you will manage and evolve compliance governance programs and framework within a defined area of scope of, product types, technologies and region. You will directly engage with product creation teams to consult the creation of products to ensure compliance requirements are met. You will be a key contributor to strategic projects which enhance the compliance framework and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Product Compliance framework & procedures:
- Identify gaps and improvements within the compliance framework and procedures. Execute updates as identified and aligned with team leadership
- Track logics and interdependency of documents. Define and decide strategic updates of documentation infrastructure. Identify efficiencies and present/prepare solutions and options.
- Maintain communication platforms and training guides ensuring high level of guidance and training of the compliance requirements and processes.
- Provide official validation on compliance as signatory on behalf of company (EU Type examination, etc…).
Research and consulting:
- Continuously remain aware and updated on upcoming and new external compliance requirements for adidas products.
- Elevate potential new needs within compliance framework to the team leadership.
- Conduct targeted research around new regulatory demands and impact to adidas business processes, present findings to leadership team.
- Be a key contact point for Product Creation teams to review new product designs, guiding teams how to ensure full compliance in testing, labelling and documentation required.
Additional responsibilities:
- Internal team contributions: Collaborate with team to create more efficient system, process and documentation structure, communication platforms, strategic needs (SharePoint landscape, files and folders, standard release process, smartsheet process development…).
- Expert advice: Guide and support Business Units assigned with questions related to the assigned area of expertise.
- X-functional Taskforces: contribute to internal x-functional task forces for strategic discussions and directions: sustainability project group, product safety task force, etc…

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Testing Laboratory and standards knowledge
- Legal & Compliance experience or exposure
- General Project Management skills (scoping, planning, resources coordination, escalation…)
- Product/Material/quality Engineering background preferred
- Relationship Management (internal & external)
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year college or university degree with focus on engineering, testing, or technical studies
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in sporting goods, apparel or footwear industry, in sourcing or testing/quality or standards management fields.
