Manager-Privacy Counsel (m/f/d)
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
The Manager Privacy Counsel is tasked with identifying and advising on data regulation topics that arise in the area of assigned stakeholders, enabling them to achieve their business goals while ensuring privacy compliance. The Counsel ensures appropriate legal assessment and provides fit for purpose advise for requests and projects with backstopping of Senior Manager or Director. They ensure the fulfillment of documentation requirements like data protection impact assessments, privacy contracts, external complaints response, etc.). They are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of activities within projects and requests of assigned stakeholders under the guidance of a Senior Manager or Director Global Privacy / Director Privacy Counsel. They coordinate and execute independently throughout all phases of an assigned projects or requests and ensures appropriate quality, documentation and communication with backstopping of Senior Manager or Director Global Privacy where needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and align priorities with assigned stakeholders based on privacy relevance, privacy risk and business priorities.
- Deliver tailored, fit for purpose advise to ensure privacy compliance and achieve stakeholders to achieve their goals.
- Data Protection Impact Assessments: Ensure the completion of Privacy Impact Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments within the pre-defined framework. Produce, verify and negotiate with internal or external stakeholders necessary deliverables (e.g. data processing agreements) and coordinate with external counsel as engaged by a Director.
- Privacy Risk Management: Engage with business owners and obtain their commitment for risk mitigation related to risk identified within activities assigned to them. Report medium or high risks to a Director.
- Personal Data Breaches: Analyse and assess incoming personal data breaches per a pre-defined assessment schema and escalate a verified personal data breach to the Global Privacy management team.
- Individual Complaints: Coordinate or execute fact finding related to the history of any complaint and highlight the privacy impact, the root cause and the related risk for adidas and provide a proposal for resonse letters related to complaints submitted by individual persons.
- Privacy Trainings: Provide training or awareness activities to special business audiences. Identify and report exisiting needs for training. Create training materials. Privacy projects: Coordinate the delivery of individual initiatives and execute complex tasks within major projects as assigned. Engage with and support external project or program managers or subject matter experts.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant working experience
- Solid and proven record in the area of privacy
- Working experience in large companies International working experience a plus
- Master degree in law (or equivalent) / alternatively master degree or equivalent in a relevant area / Full law qualification (master degree in law or equivalent & eligible for bar admisstion) a plus
- Relevant international privacy certification a plus (CIPP, CIPM, etc.)
- Should be Fluent in English and German proficency would be a plus
