Senior Director Brand Communications - BU Originals (m/f/d)

PURPOSE

  • This role leads the brand strategy across multiple seasons and across all business layers (distribution segments). It owns the Fashion Partner activation brand calendar and coordinates with the overall Orginals and Partnership one.
  • This role is ensure a consumer relevant and consistent brand expression, identity and rollout. In particular the role oversees all inline activations from brief to activation and handover to markets.
  • The role leads the orchestration and future vision of all consumer facing communication touch points across earned and owned platforms of Digital, Retail, Membership and Partner Activation.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Global VP Brand Communication and team to deliver a multi-season brand strategy, guidelines and process for a seamless and connected marketing activation and content planning across all communication touch points (Digital, Retail, Membership, Partners).
  • Preside over and be held accountable for the creation of channel agency briefs for development of marketing concepts & tools to be implemented on adidas owned and earned channels.
  • Serve as the functional communication face/lead to all external/internal agency partners to ensure that category presentations to consumers are consistent with the category vision.
  • Track the success of marketing communications efforts within key markets, subsidiaries and countries to ensure learning’s and future implementation.
  • Lead the personal development of integrated team members that report directly and indirectly to you to ensure the advancement of next generation leaders. This include, but not limited to: personal development plan, bi/annual review and day-to-day coaching and guidance.
  • Partner where applicable to the horizontal functions (such as Digital, Newsrooms, Retail, Brand Planning, BU Merchandising, Sport & Culture Marketing) to ensure clarity, partnership and proper execution of category vision and integrated plans globally across all consumer touchpoints.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Proven level of strategic thinking and leadership at a senior level.
  • Proven understanding of consumer messaging, brand building, demand creation and planning.
  • Proven high level of project management, budget management and scheduling.
  • Ability to manage and lead internal and external multidisciplinary groups: product marketing, advertising, PR, Internet, retail, etc.
  • Affinity with cross-channel PR and a strong background in strategy, media relations, journalism / writing and digital PR / social media. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as wide senior audience’s presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively present to internal/external audiences of 100+ people.
  • Broad understanding of the sports industry and a passion for it.
  • Proven ability to serve as a senior spokesperson for the brand when/where needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Degree in PR, Marketing Communications and/or a related field. Master or MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience at leading an integrated team and activation marketing vision at the international level.
  • Proven experience leading and activation of integrated brand communication at the local market level is preferred.
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience, either internationally or at local market level.
