Senior Director Global Payroll (m/f/d)
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Lead the design and implementation of process standards, procedures and guidelines and provide leadership and oversight of the end-to-end process for remuneration, time management and related taxes as well as Social Security contributions globally. Own, define and design the companies Payroll & Time strategy, policy framework and delivery model, and lead the transformation. Manage relationships with and between HR, Finance and GBS teams at market and above market levels. Ensure strong data governance and management, payroll accuracy and effective collaboration with other related functions (e.g. Rewards, Payroll Tax).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Payroll & Time strategy and operating model within the context of a rapidly evolving HR Shared Services model as well as provide tactical direction and seek alignment with HR Leads in the markets and above market.
- Defines and establishes best-in-class payroll and time solutions that will scale with employee growth, support the company’s wide range of compensation and benefits programs, and meet multi-jurisdictional compliance requirements
- Lead payroll and time transformation initiatives
- Drive adherence to consistent above market framework and coordinate regional efforts towards a modernized Payroll and Time toolbox, while supporting flexibility locally as required
- Build partnerships and solicit feedback from internal and external business partners to define and develop successful, scalable processes and practices
- Provide oversight to the team's activities and processes, ensuring that pertinent internal and external compliance and government interaction standards are met
- Implement and leverage technology that best fits the companies needs
- Establish an effective operational management system to track and communicate performance against internal service level agreements and external benchmarks
- Provides technical advice, manages employment tax audits and risks, and engages with internal and external counsel, auditors, third-party service providers, and advisors as needed
- Drives process and policy recommendations with stakeholders to ensure that compliance objectives are met
- Provide leadership over end-to-end payroll processing performed by both outsourced/3rd party vendors and inhouse operations
- Oversight of pension (and benefit administration for Germany only), and any associated regulatory reporting requirements
- Manage initiatives to drive continuous improvement in payroll and time processing, system configurations, and the control environment, ensuring timely and accurate operations
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all tax compliance reporting matters
- Develop performance measurements and benchmarks to drive improvement in payroll and time streams in both the inhouse GBS operations and third-party providers.
- Align and collaborate with key partners (e.g. Markets, Operations hubs, functional CoEs or project teams, etc.) on the direction of the defined ToBe architecture.
- Understand the current high-level technology environment of cloud-based Human Resources and Payroll systems, and third-party provider opportunities

- Previous experience managing multiple direct reports and geographically dispersed teams in an agile environment; ability to navigate different cultures and business practices
- Proven business partnering, collaboration, and influencing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent in HR, Finance (MBA, Diploma, BA, etc.)
- MBA or advanced degree or certificate (e.g. CPP) preferred
- 8-10 years of work experience within the field of global payroll
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Understanding & knowledge of regional and global market landscape and the respective customers
- Experienced stakeholder management of senior business leaders
- Experience in project management
- Transformation/implementation experience desired
