Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

 

Responsible for compliance with Federal regulations in the area of Social Security and for  managing Global Mobility payroll for the HQ location, including payroll accounting and payroll audits. Contributes to adherence, optimization and compliance of adidas AG HR practices to Social Security regulations, laws and obligations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure the accurate and timely filing of social security contributions and other statutory information requests. 
  • Identify solutions for routine social security issues and organization of team to meet rigid deadlines.
  • Leads, directs, evaluates and develops a team of specialists to ensure that the strategic priorities are effectively implemented. 
  • Develops, implements, and recommends processes and procedures to create efficiency and standardization. 
  • Maintains complete and accurate policy and procedure documentation. 
  • Actively participates in HR Projects and lead projects related to social security, global mobility payroll, payroll accounting and audit, continuously driving improvement. 
  • Peer to Sr. Director Payroll Tax and Sr. Manager Corporate Wage tax on all social security related matters.
  • Responsibility for delivering and processing of monthly and year-end activities related to social security, global mobility and payroll accounting. 
  • Ensures all payrolls, accounting and auxiliary system requirements are met regarding social security, global mobility tax set-up, tax deposits, tax filing, and year-end reconciliations. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Ensure timely communication of changes to policies, procedures, and regulations to employees and stakeholders. 
  • Act as the subject matter expert to ensure that the compliance risk for all relevant regulations, laws and employment standards is adhered to. Stay current on changes to payroll processing policies, internal procedures, and software updates. 
  • Process reports for internal management and external audit requests, including biweekly and quarterly reporting, re-classing and analysis to the Finance Team.
  • Respond to more complex, escalated enquiries from team members and resolve difficult enquiries from and recommend solutions for Corporate Tax, Finance, Audit and Employees
  • Manage on-going relationships with external suppliers and consultants (e.g. payroll and system consultants, social security authorities, etc.) to include selected vendors, managing contracts and ensuring satisfactory service standards
  • Responsible for HQ Reporting to the local Authorities, assisting in social security regulation audits of the adidas AG and implementation of related measures resulting from Audits 
  • Act as primary contact person with regard to social security matters
  • Consultation and support for the HR Services team with regard to social security matters
  • Supporting the Rewards / HR Partners with regard to social security matters
  • Revision of existing guidelines & definition and documentation of cross-departmental workflows
  • Participation in potential projects involving own area of responsibility

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • Excellent command of English and German language 
  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office applications and business computing solutions, ideally SAP-HR/FI

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Social Security consultant 
  • University/Commercial education with respective specialisation
  • 8+ years of work experience in the field of payroll administration with a focus on Social Security
  • 2+ years managerial experience
  • Prior experience working in a shared service environment preferred.
