PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION

 

This role is responsible for maximizing the profitability and efficiency of the Retail Concept Portfolio within the Retail Expansion Europe team by managing the development, sourcing, and integration of both trade and non-trade retail concept hardware, along with tools and processes that support the rollout of market specific retail concepts. This position ensures that all solutions meet retail and company-specific requirements while contributing to the overall profitability and efficiency of market Europe.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Set up and manage global and regional engineering and manufacturing partners to support business growth and ensure alignment with corporate policies, standards, and market needs.
  • Lead the procurement and supply chain process for retail concept hardware, including vendor creation, fixture orders, bulk and forecasted orders, and coordination with global and third-party vendors to ensure timely, cost-effective, and complete delivery.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of store concepts and fixtures, including managing updates, adjusting or procuring materials, and ensuring adaptation to evolving retail strategies.
  • Manage external vendors (new and current), including performance oversight, process training, and fostering effective, solution-oriented communication to maintain high standards and efficient supply chains.
  • Develop and implement standardized processes, including health & safety assessments, installation guidelines, and single global business processes for a controlled rollout of retail concepts.
  • Support and manage the global tender process and tools for concept hardware in collaboration with Procurement, maximizing supply chain efficiency and economies of scale.
  • Ensure system and data accuracy (e.g., file management, forecasting tools) for robust decision-making and transparent demand management.
  • Provide strategic input and technical consultation during the retail concept design process to optimize supply chain potential and sustainability.
  • Manage concept related updates, tools and processes to ensure efficient and timely rollout to market
  • Manage project timelines, internal reporting, and process monitoring while proactively resolving issues and initiating improvements.
  • Translate corporate objectives into actionable team plans, monitor outcomes, and ensure continuous performance improvement.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Background in commercial and retail design
  • Spatial planning and 2D/3D visualization skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Cloud or other design tools
  • Advanced skills in MS Office
  • Knowledge of furniture design, construction, and retail operations
  • Expertise in sourcing and quality control of fixtures, fittings, and retail tools
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages a plus
  • Highly organized, process-oriented, and adaptable
  • Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional, virtual teams
  • Able to manage priorities under pressure and handle ad hoc tasks
  • Ability to travel as required

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • University degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or equivalent
  • 5-8 years in retail design, store development, and layout design
  • Strong project management experience in retail/store development
  • 5+ years managing 3rd-party supplier relationships (international, ideally Asia)
  • Experience in retail concept hardware engineering, sourcing, and global rollouts (furniture preferred)
  • Exposure to merchandising, supply chain, and store development
