Intern, Manufacturing Innovation - Advanced Chemicals

Purpose:    

  • Work under Advanced Chemicals team as an additional resource to support on researching into certain business focused technologies including rubber, EVA, PU, injected plastic components, ink/paint, adhesive and others. Propose ideas and solutions, and present final project during the internship in which clear conclusion is drawn based on the status quo in the industry and insights into future studies are required.   
  • Will take on other routine tasks in alignment with liner manager.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Research sporting goods, technologies, supply partner and other industries to benchmark and identify potential opportunities for innovative technology, processes, or materials that create an overall industrial competitive advantage.  
  • Knowledge of polymer chemistry, and other chemical products including formulations, processing, machinery, and physical testing in the field of ”Liquid”, “Solid”, and/or “Gas” specialties.   
    • “Liquid”: adhesive, ink/painting  
    • “Gas”: EVA, PU  
    • “Solid”: rubber, injected plastic components, pigments interaction with        
    •       polymers  
    •      [Bonus if also have]  
  • Analytical skills for problem solving and for creation, planning and delivering of project work.  
  • Ability to successfully explain highly technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

  • Global Sourcing: materials, engineering, and manufacturing innovation team  
  • Headquarter innovation teams  
  • External stakeholders: Sourcing Suppliers  

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 

  • Advanced knowledge in Polymer Science, Material Science or Chemical Engineering.  
  • Strong analytical skills for problem solving and for creation, planning and delivering of project work.  
  • Ownership of assigned projects. Able to work independently and self-motivated.  
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).  
  • Basic Microsoft office skills.  

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  • In 3rd/final year of postgraduate program in Polymer Science, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering. 
  • Oversea education background preferred. 
  • Willing to learn, open to new ideas & explore different options at work. 
  • At least 6 months of availability 

Working Location: Vietnam office + Factories (very occasionally - transport via company shuttle bus if needed)
