Senior Manager, Franchise

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

This role is responsible for maximizing profitability and optimizing store network of the Market Franchise business by directing activities of adidas stores and direct reports to ensure a sustainable and profitable market share growth; whilst completely owning the financial plan from channel down to store level in line with Market ambitions/budget  

 

Account management:

  • Act as the key contact for Franchise business in the Market, representing the Franchise business model internally and externally
  • Define the Franchise strategy in line with the Market targets and priorities, and developing the Franchise store network with existing and new Franchise partners
  • Pursue additional business opportunities and apply a strategic mid-long term approach.
  • Provide realistic business plans and forecasts that is aligned with the company’s longer-range plan
  • Manage and monitor the Franchise business regarding sell in/ sell through, order book, as well as supervise the reliable and cost-efficient supply of products for the franchise accounts by proactively facilitating meeting/business reviews with designated operations team and Customer Service 
  • Manage all interfaces, including relationships with business partners and vendors (e.g. cashdesk system/traffic counter system provider):
    • By frequently addressing the main account requirements across functions
    • By proactively coordinating/ facilitating meetings with other functions and accounts 
  • Allocate resources, negotiate, implement and track action plans to achieve set annual net sales target.
  • Report the Market Franchise business development on a regular basis to identify areas in need of support, including (but not limited to) store rollout plan, Franchise partner strategy, Franchise P&L, sell-in, store performance (operational KPIs), operational execution, priorities, store profitability, Franchise partner profitability
  • Establish strong and collaborative business relationships with key customer’s decision makers and make the Company their preferred partners.
  • Provide and demonstrate expertise in key forums
  • Participate in Global initiatives by supporting the implementation of new global tools and standards in the Market
  • Participate in and drive special projects in the Market and with Global to optimize the Franchise business model

 

Store portfolio:

  • Co-define and execute the management of the store portfolio in the Market, including opening/closing and remodels
  • Manage and supervise the opening process for new stores, including (but not limited to) new store location proposals, official sign-off for new stores, and the operational processes related to the store opening (store development, layout planning, marketing, etc)

 

Store operations:

  • Consolidate all retail related reports for routine business updates
  • Meet or exceed agreed sell in and sell out KPI targets for net sales and profitability 
  • Perform productivity analysis to drive efficiencies 
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Own Retail, Marketing, and other departments to ensure excellent execution of the Franchise stores
  • Collaborate with other functions on Market level and with Global teams to develop, implement and track retail operation processes, innovation and improvement projects
  • Deliverbest-in-class brandledconsumer experienceholisticallyby identifying, sharing, and exchanging best practices with other Markets and Global team to enhance the adidas Group mono-branded shopping experience
  • Host and moderate key meetings with Franchise partners, store managers, etc. (e.g. seasonal Franchise conference with all partners)
  • Analyze and interpret retail trends in the market

 

Product:

  • Lead and manage the implementation of Brand and Sales initiatives/programs for the franchise channel to promote key messages and achieve a competitive advantage.
  • Supervise and support the seasonal sell-in process with the Franchise partners

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Excellent attention to detail, operational and analysis skills
  • Structured, process oriented at the same time approachable and strong interpersonal skills and is able to achieve desired results in a face-paced, highly competitive and multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent communication skills including impactful presentation skills, influencing, negotiating, and change management

 

Experience Requirements:

 

  • Degree in Retail Management or Business Management or related field
  • Strong leadership skills with a minimum 5 years’ experience in retail leading multi store retail teams
  • Strong knowledge of the footwear, apparel, retail industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and local language, Vietnamese are required
  • Familiarity with Vietnam market is a strong advantage, including understanding of local business insights and customers’ behaviors
