Embroidery Tech

Purpose:   The Embroidery Tech is an Embroidery Department position with elevated responsibilities. The Tech must be able to perform each of the Embroidery Operator job requirements with an added responsibility of work facilitation and associate development. They will be responsible for the distribution of daily work to the embroidery machine operators and also setting up the embroidery machines for production runs. Additionally, the Embroidery Tech may be utilized to train new hires, upskill and reboot existing associates, and, on a daily basis, lead associates to achieve the highest level of efficiency and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Delegate embroidery work to machines based on application process, graphics, run sizes, and both machine and operator capabilities.
  • Work with embroidery leadership to prioritize work-flow based manufacturing date and rush call outs.
  • Utilize art database to research and download digital art files. Print correct color copies and cross-reference to grid details.
  • Upload art files to the embroidery machine control panel and set the correct graphic orientation and machine speeds to adidas standards.  
  • Move physical work and grids from the embroidery staging area to the press, ensuring MARC location scans are performed.
  • Thread color verification and proper spool to needle loading.
  • Re-label and properly store thread spools.
  • Identify and communicate any art, placement, or garment issues to Embroidery Leads to prevent unnecessary defects.
  • Identify any machine issues to Maintenance and Embroidery Leads that would impair good quality or reduce the machine and operators’ ability to maximize allotted heads and run speeds.
  • Troubleshoot before and during runs, paying attention to work coming off the machine to identify and correct any issues as soon as possible, minimizing machine and individual machine head downtime.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and display a sense of pace and urgency to all other associates.
  • Train associates, as needed/requested.
  • Operate a machine, as needed/requested.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Embroidery Operator experience mandatory.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills and live the adidas core values of courage, ownership, innovation, teamplay, integrity, and respect
  • Ability to communicate well and in a professional manner.
  • Ability to lead small teams in fast paced environment and work under pressure.
  • Math and analytical skills.

 

Essential Functions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • regularly talk, hear; sit, stand and/or walk; use fingers, hands, arms and feet to reach, feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, operate, push, pull, bend, and/or twist for up to twelve (12) hours/day
  • occasionally climb, stoop, kneel and/or crouch
  • occasionally lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
  • reliably attend work/scheduled hours

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Required to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Previous manufacturing and/or machine operating experience preferred
