- Develop, maintain, and verify execution of applicable occupational health and safety programs and controls, including, without limitation, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, ergonomics, walking-working surfaces, electrical safety, contractor safety, indoor air quality, heat illness prevention, wildfire-smoke response, workplace violence prevention, and exposure-response protocols, as required by federal, state, or local law and company standards.
- Maintain legal compliance registers; monitor federal, state, and local regulatory developments; coordinate required permits, plans, filings, fees, and reports; and verify compliance with occupational health, safety, environmental, fire and life-safety, hazardous-materials, waste, air, water, spill-prevention, and emergency-planning obligations administered by applicable agencies having jurisdiction.
- Lead or oversee HSE risk assessments, inspections, and internal audits covering facilities, work activities, equipment, contractors, projects, events, and operational processes.
- Define corrective and preventive actions, assign accountability, monitor timely closure, verify effectiveness, and escalate material HSE risks that exceed established tolerances.
- Lead incident notification, investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective-action tracking, and organizational learning for occupational injuries, illnesses, environmental events, and near misses.
- Partner with HR, Legal, insurers, brokers, and third-party administrators on Workers’ Compensation case review, documentation, trend analysis, return-to-work coordination, and risk-reduction actions.

- Support emergency preparedness, evacuation, first response, fire prevention, and crisis-management arrangements, including exercises and follow-up actions for assigned locations.
- Partner with Facilities and operational teams to identify environmental aspects and impacts and implement controls for waste, hazardous materials, spill prevention and response, and applicable air, water, and chemical requirements.
- Establish and monitor HSE objectives, leading and lagging indicators, audit results, incident trends, and action plans; provide clear risk insights and recommendations to business and site leadership.
- Provide HSE input for new locations, construction and renovation projects, equipment installations, events, and operational changes to ensure risks are assessed and controls are in place before launch or implementation.
