Manufacturing & Distribution Center Tech Consultant
PURPOSE
The adidas Indy Technology Consultant identifies business opportunities and translates them into practical technology solutions through business case development, process analysis, process mapping, use-case definition, and solution planning and configuration. The role provides expert guidance on applications and systems, supports end users as needed, and helps shape solutions that meet business needs while aligning with adidas technology standards.
In addition, the Technology Consultant serves as the face of adidas Technology to the business, acting as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. The role builds trusted cross-functional relationships, aligns priorities, and translates business needs into clear technical requirements that support efficient delivery and measurable business value.
This position partners closely with stakeholders across distribution, operations, and manufacturing functions within the Indianapolis manufacturing and distribution center. A strong understanding of warehouse, supply chain, and operational processes is critical to ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with day-to-day business needs.
This role operates within a rapidly evolving technology landscape that includes artificial intelligence, low-code and no-code platforms, and automation. The Technology Consultant helps business partners evaluate and adopt emerging capabilities in ways that improve speed, efficiency, and decision-making while remaining aligned with adidas standards, security requirements, and long-term strategy.
With a strong understanding of the adidas technology landscape, the Technology Consultant evaluates how systems, integrations, and infrastructure affect operations across the Indianapolis manufacturing and distribution center. The role ensures solutions reflect end-to-end process flows, system dependencies, and operational constraints while aligning local initiatives with regional and global technology strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS ANALYSIS
- Develops, maintains, and communicates a consolidated business and technology roadmap for the Indianapolis location.
- Analyzes operational needs, business challenges, and improvement opportunities across automated and non-automated processes.
- Builds business cases and supports demand intake in alignment with adidas standards and governance practices.
- Partners with business stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and sequence enhancements and project requests based on business value, complexity, and resource capacity.
- Supports the definition of acceptance criteria and test approaches for recommended solutions.
- Drives clear prioritization of initiatives with business partners to ensure focus on the highest-value outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS DEFINITION AND MANAGEMENT
- Leads scoping, requirements definition, and prioritization activities for small-scale changes and contributes to larger, more complex initiatives.
- Applies agreed standards and appropriate techniques to elicit, document, and validate detailed business and technical requirements.
- Provides constructive challenge to stakeholders to clarify needs, assumptions, and solution impacts.
- Prioritizes requirements and maintains traceability from source through delivery.
- Reviews requirements for completeness, quality, and alignment to business objectives.
- Contributes to requirements baselines and supports disciplined change control.
- Identifies, assesses, and proactively mitigates risks related to scope, requirements, and delivery, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Manage approved changes to baseline requirements in accordance with change management policy.
MANAGING / PORTING SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION
- Supports the configuration of software and equipment, including system testing of platform-specific versions of one or more software products.
- Documents defects, implements resolutions, and coordinates retesting in line with agreed standards.
- Acts as project manager for small-scale enhancements by defining scope, timelines, and deliverables and coordinating cross-functional resources to support successful delivery.
APPLICATION SUPPORT
- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves application issues in accordance with agreed support procedures.
- Uses application management tools to monitor performance and collect agreed service and performance metrics.
- Performs agreed application maintenance activities to support stable and effective operations.

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 years of experience in IT.
- Four-year college or university degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT business analysis and demand management, including business case development, process mapping, and requirements definition.
- At least 1 year of experience in team leadership or informal leadership across cross-functional work.
- Demonstrated experience leading change initiatives, developing test cases from business requirements, facilitating cross-functional user testing, and delivering concise executive communications that support decision-making and alignment.
- Experience working on multiple concurrent projects, with the ability to manage competing priorities and navigate delivery complexity.
- Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies, or equivalent delivery frameworks.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills, with the ability to align technology solutions to broader business objectives and long-term value.
- Proficient spoken and written English.
- Proficiency with project management, collaboration, and productivity tools, including: Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet, along with Microsoft technologies such as Office 365, Microsoft Copilot, Visio (process mapping), Teams, and Loop.
- Experience working effectively across cultures.
- Experience participating in projects involving multiple functions, teams, or markets.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Supply chain or manufacturing certifications (for example, APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or MAPICS) are preferred.
- Technical business analysis certifications, such as CBAP or PMI-PBA, are a plus.
- Experience with low-code or no-code platforms, such as Power Platform or similar tools.
- MS SQL skills for data analysis, reporting, troubleshooting, or solution development.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools and prompt engineering to improve efficiency, insight, and outcomes.
- Experience developing or implementing AI agents or other AI driven solutions.
- Experience creating and delivering end-user training and support materials.
- Experience designing or implementing RPA bots or other process automation solutions.
