Operations Supervisor - H Shift (Monday - Thursday 6 pm - 4:30 am)

 

Purpose: The Operations Supervisor is a member of the Operation's management team within the Distribution Center. They are responsible for leading and developing their own team of operations associates with a focus on motivating, mentoring, and coaching. They are accountable for engaging their team during a shift to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. This role requires strong leadership, the ability to address challenges and the desire to equip their team with the tools needed for success. The Operations Supervisor will ensure that daily departmental goals are met using a people-first philosophy to achieve established objectives in safety, service, quality, and cost.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage specific functional area in Operations and be accountable for achieving all productivity and quality targets
  • Train, manage, and develop all Operations associates
  • Maintain full working knowledge of the timekeeping system (Kronos), performance/labor management system (GoalPost) and WMS (MARC) platforms
  • Manage the collection, reporting and feedback regarding operations functions using GoalPost, SAP, Excel, queries and WMS reporting
  • Report on operations metrics to evaluate functional area performance in productivity, quality, and safety
  • Create a positive team environment that encourages all associates to provide insights and feedback to improve processes, adapt to an ever-changing business, and stay focused on internal/external customer satisfaction
  • Track employee attendance, evaluate employee performance, and deliver feedback as needed/required
  • Maintain all OSHA safety standards including all reporting of accidents, injuries, damages, and potential risks to safety
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience operating in high-volume distribution operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to effectively and efficiently interact with associates and management team.
  • Ability to accept and meet critical deadlines with good planning and organization skills
  • Proficient analytical and data manipulation skills. Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
  • The job requires extensive walking and standing on hard surfaces
  • Regularly required to talk, hear; sit, stand and/or walk; use fingers, hands, arms and feet to feel, handle, grip, grasp, Lift, operate, push, pull, bend, and/or twist for up to ten Cl 2) hours/day
  • Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel and/or crouch
  • Occasionally lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Ability to work safely on elevated surfaces (2" level mezzanine)

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in distribution/warehouse operations
  • Supervisory/leadership experience in leading teams of 10 or more
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
