Senior Finance Manager, Manufacturing
Purpose
As a key member of the NAM Finance Team, this role acts as the financial consultant for the Indianapolis Manufacturing organization by providing recommendations to enable and drive fact-based decision-making. Plays a leadership role in how the organization plans, forecasts, tracks, manages, and reports all aspects of the business, both locally and back to Headquarters. Supports the financial portion of the strategic business planning process & takes a lead role in budget planning. Partners with multiple departments on cross functional and strategic projects to address business risks and opportunities and to drive creative outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide financial guidance and influence to Senior Management to assist in making business decisions and achieve growth, profitability and cost optimization across the organization
- Manage and maintain integrity of annual budgeting and dynamic forecasting processes
- Support senior management and Global with detailed financial analysis and other ad hoc reporting and project needs to include demand forecasting, competitive analysis, and factory cost modeling for embellishment activities
- Provide meaningful insights regarding actual financial performance and the monthly LE, partnering with the relevant finance partners to create a complete picture
- Develop and implement creative process improvements and best-known practices while simplifying current financial management processes
- Identify and analyze business risks and opportunities to determine impact on financial results, including post-mortems on outcomes
- Lead and participate in cross functional projects as required
- Provide leadership and consultation for analysts
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to influence strategic decisions through effective oral and written communication to senior management (CFO/SVP), managers, stakeholders, cross functional business leaders, and peers
- Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex data from multiple sources, identify alternatives and develop innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent knowledge in Finance and/or Accounting and high-level understanding and experience with retail math and manufacturing financial drivers
- Ability to make high quality decisions despite limited information or time for analysis
- Demonstrated analytical and financial modelling skills, comfort with Finance and Accounting principles and strong financial statement analysis ability
- Ability to navigate complex and/or politically charged environments to influence and enable key business partners
- Ability to be detail oriented while independently leading and/or executing multiple assignments simultaneously under tight timelines
Qualifications (Minimum required education and experience):
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in a financial role with proven business acumen
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business. CPA or MBA preferred. Will accept suitable combination of education, experience and training.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Industry or manufacturing specific experience preferred
- Solid accounting skills and experience
- Advanced skills in Excel; strongly proficient skills Word, PowerPoint
- Familiarity with SAP and other relevant industry Finance systems/analytical software a major plus
- Hands-on style to ensure 100% compliance with approved financial and audit guidelines
