Director Business Development
The Business Development function operates across three core focus areas, ensuring clarity of direction, disciplined execution, and long-term value creation for the brand in Türkiye
GROWTH: Drive market momentum
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
To support profitable and sustainable market share growth for the brand in the Market through the development and implementation of new strategic business concepts (reflecting Sales/Marketing/Operations) with key customers. The role further focuses on enabling scalable growth by shaping commercial and business models, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, and supporting Türkiye’s long-term growth agenda in close alignment with local and global stakeholders.
Responsibilities aligned to Growth:
- Align strategic priorities across management team and support global priorities
- Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives and high-impact projects that unlock growth opportunities and enhance market effectiveness
- Lead strategic planning and project management with a focus on market clustering, market-entry strategy, scalable business set-up and financial modeling
- Design and lead the set-up of new commercial and go-to-market models, including evaluation, recommendation, and structured project management, ensuring alignment with Türkiye’s growth priorities and global frameworks

Responsibilities aligned to Innovation:
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives across departments and enable effective solutions that support business scalability and efficiency
- Manage coordination and project management for major Business Solutions projects
- Standardize and simplify business processes in line with global guardrails, reporting and internal controls requirements
- Manage major cross-functional projects through creation of business cases to support requirements, definition of project management frameworks, deliverables and KPI’s, and delivery of results and impact assessment
- Proactively shape and enable business evolution in business processes and organizational ways of working to meet the needs of brand, market, customers and consumers, by identifying growth levers, scaling best practices and supporting future-ready business blueprints
HEAD OFFICE: Strategic Storytelling & Planning
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
To ensure strategic clarity, alignment, and effective decision-making by translating strategy, data, and market insights into structured narratives, executive communication, and coordinated stakeholder engagement across the business
Responsibilities aligned to Head Office:
- Manage communication flow, acting as a strategic partner to the GM Türkiye and management team by providing structured insights, business updates and executive-level communication
- Develop and continuously improve functional and inter-personal skills of the team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration and strategic thinking
- Embrace and role-model the adidas Leadership Framework by displaying Confidence, Creativity & Collaboration
- Act as a key spokesperson for Türkiye’s growth and market presence, representing local priorities in regional and global forums, while ensuring effective stakeholder management and smooth, efficient business modelling

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experienced Business Development executive with proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects ideally with Marketing / Sales or Operations experience
- Strong strategic and visionary thinking as well as operational skills
- Proven project management skills
- High degree of commercial and business acumen knowledge
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proven leadership and managerial skills
- High personal impact, experience dealing with senior stakeholders and strong communication skills
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 12 - 15 years of project management experience within large organisations or in the consulting industry
- Preferable experience in Retail / FMCG in Emerging Markets
- Experience successfully leading, managing and developing a team
- Business degree from leading business school, MBA a plus
- Fluent in English and Turkish, additional languages an advantage
