Assistant Manager, Sustainable Sourcing – Field Operations

PURPOSE 

A key player in Global Sourcing in driving Sourcing’s vision to be the Most Agile, Most Competitive, Most Digitalized & Cleanest Supply Base in the industry.

Support the roll out, provide guidance and monitor adidas’s environmental supply chain strategy, program and targets for Sourcing suppliers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the implementation of adidas's environmental supply chain strategy, program, and targets for sourcing suppliers, working under the guidance of the Manager. Assist in providing technical input to suppliers on issues related to energy, waste, water, chemical management, and/or wastewater in the Global Supply Chain.
• Help monitor facilities’ compliance with adidas environmental program requirements and targets, and report findings to the Manager.
• Assist in identifying potential areas of risk and compile recommendations based on legal obligations, commitments, and/or Social & Environmental Affairs requirements for Manager review.
• Collect and analyze environmental performance indicators of suppliers and prepare initial summaries for business partners on supplier performance within assigned coverage.
• Provide basic guidance and capacity-building support to facilities on environmental issues to drive improvements, escalating complex matters to the Manager.
• Coordinate training sessions and assist in delivering advisory support to ensure suppliers meet sustainability system reporting deadlines.
• Assist in rolling out adidas supply chain environmental management programs in key countries, in collaboration with relevant functions and under the direction of the Manager.
• Support activities to increase internal awareness and knowledge of adidas environmental program achievements.
• Ensure assigned sourcing operations and practices follow adidas’ Responsible Sourcing & Purchasing Policy, adidas standards, and legal requirements, escalating any compliance issues to the Manager.
• Contributes to fostering a culture of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, supporting initiatives that create an inclusive workplace.

• Good business acumen, quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
• Able to develop business cases, including financial implications for environmental investments
• Good communication skills to simplify complex information to diverse stakeholders
• Good project management, presentation, influencing and communication skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Strong Microsoft office skills

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• University degree in Environmental studies, Science, Engineering, Climate discipline or Chemical
