Asst. Manager, Accounting (AP)
Purpose/ Mission:
The Assistant Manager, Accounting (Account Payables) will manage the end-to-end AP function of adidas Indonesia and ensure the accounting records are in compliance with approved accounting standards and statutory requirements. They will ensure month end accounts close on timely manner to provide financial and management reports in the tight deadlines, and will manage the accounting team to achieve operational and financial excellence.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Lead and supervise the Accounting team in managing the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and establish effective processes and controls to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring accounting activities, reconciliations, and reporting are completed on schedule.
- Review subsidiary ledger balances and reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy against the General Ledger.
- Review financial results and accounting movements, investigate significant variances, and provide meaningful analysis and insights to management.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments to suppliers, employees, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor team performance, workload allocation, and operational issues while providing guidance and coaching to ensure consistent delivery.
Secondary Accountabilites:
- Prepare and review accounting schedules and reconciliations.
- Review and approve accounting journals to ensure proper recording and supporting documentation.
- Ensure transactions are correctly posted to the relevant brands, divisions, departments, sports codes, and cost centers.
- Review provisions for Accounts Receivable and inventory.
- Ensure standard cost revaluations are completed accurately and on time.
- Review bank, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and inventory reconciliations.
- Review the fixed asset register and ensure records are aligned with physical assets.
- Coordinate periodic physical counts of fixed assets.
- Review and ensure timely filing of GST returns.
- Prepare and submit statutory and business reporting required by local regulations.
- Provide accurate financial information for corporate tax return preparation and filing.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules and documentation.
- Review accounting processes and recommend improvements where required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience across accounting, audit, taxation, or a commercial finance environment.
- Experience managing or supervising an accounting team, preferably within a multinational or structured commercial organization.
- Strong working knowledge of full-set accounting, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, inventory, fixed assets, and month-end closing.
- Good understanding of local and International Financial Reporting Standards and applicable tax regulations.
- Strong knowledge of direct and indirect taxation, including withholding tax and GST/VAT requirements.
- Professional accounting qualification such as MIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience with financial systems/ERP platforms and accounting process controls is an advantage.
