Manager, Materials Costing

Responsibilities

A key player in Global Sourcing in driving Sourcing’s vision to be the Most Agile, Most Competitive, Most Digitalized & Cleanest Supply Base in the industry. Execute towards materials strategy process & strategic allocation to balance material portfolio against multiple factors, e.g. availability, cost, quality, sustainability, innovation etc. Actively manage a best-in-class and balanced supplier portfolio. Assist to build material pricing models for innovative material technologies. Review & track material prices.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build material knowledge, including supply market developments, manufacturing & costing processes to ensure best-in-class material costing management.
  • Support materials costing benchmarking analysis to identify competitive pricing strategies and adapt to market trends.
  • Implement material pricing models for innovative technologies for sustainability, e.g. T2T materials, in collaboration with Advanced Manufacturing & Material Operations.
  • Ensure the accurate and continuous tracking of market data on input factors for innovative technologies.
  • Track, report & project sustainable material prices incl. from T2T materials.
  • Ensure all sourcing operations and practices fully comply with adidas’ Responsible Sourcing & Purchasing Policy, adidas standards and legal requirements, while managing the relevant processes internally and externally.
  • Track, monitor & create relevant reporting for further analysis, e.g. volume growth, Margin opportunity, Labour & Overhead… etc.
  • Role model leadership to foster a culture of Diversity Equity & Inclusion that strives for an inclusive workplace.

  • Product Operations: Business Unit Costing, Planning
  • External stakeholders: T2 suppliers, Strategic T3 suppliers

Requisite Education and Experience

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance or Procurement is preferred.
  • 5+ years professional experience in manufacturing, preferably in Costing or Materials manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of materials construction and manufacturing process is preferred.
