Senior Profit Protection Specialist
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
This position is integral to the on-going success of retail internal controls, improving operations by objectively auditing and reporting to functional leads and stakeholders. Ensuring control, risk assurance and governance to retail operational guidance’s and procedures, striving towards contributing to introduce best practices, control efficiencies and risk remediation. Identification, quantification and communication of risk followed by implementation of strategies to reduce risk (avoidance, reduction). Reduction of Shrinkage (Retail Losses) via process improvement, training, awareness and where needed the investigation. Liaison with appropriate external agencies e.g. law enforcement to support crime reduction. In this role you will also be required to support risk management and internal controls.
PP Responsibilities
• To proactively and continuously review, assess and identify risk within the Retail Environment (Direct To Consumer). Reduce and mitigate risk with the implementation of comprehensive risk reduction strategies and countermeasures.
• Conduct retail store compliance audits to ensure adherence/compliance to defined controls, policies and procedures (House of Retail, Inventory Control, Certified Internal Auditor). To analyse/report findings and ensure remediating actions/action plans are followed by Retail Management.
• Review, monitor and manage retail data (shrinkage/cycle counts/stock counts) affecting the P&L of retail stores (Direct To Consumer) and develop, recommend and implement comprehensive countermeasures to eliminate or minimize losses.
• Conduct retail investigations in accordance with relevant professional standards, legal requirements and internal policies and procedures, and complete timely reports/findings to the relevant stake holders utilising the Case Management platform.
• Perform data analysis for Point of Sale high risk transactions (e.g. shrinkage, post void/return & exchange, staff discounts, etc) reviewing data on specific tools to identify exceptions and fraud indicators and initiate reviews / investigations / management reporting.
IC Responsibilities

PP specialists will be required to support IC cluster/country leads in execution of allocated ICS/ IC reviews/ related stakeholder initiatives (EM/Global/Cluster/Country) priorities

PP specialists support ICS testing / CSA control assessments, usage of TM+ to document and manage follow ups on results/ actions with control owners

Focus on knowledge transfer of PP deliverables on reporting, planning and execution to IC cluster/country to ensure consolidated IC & PP cluster/ country reporting

Collective stakeholder engagement and relations management

Support to IC lead with EM IC PP cluster reporting objective tracking and debriefing on cluster updates and progress on deliverables

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Functional: Experience of Risk management, Security or Audit within Retail Industry

Exposure in Finance, Investigations, Retail, Law enforcement

Strong communication skills and high degree of stakeholder orientation

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

Relevant university degree or other tertiary related education

Functional: 3 years professional experience at similar roles or as a store manager
