Role: Manager, Sales Planning & Operations

 

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

This is a regional adidas SEA role responsible for delivering high-quality sales planning, forecasting and business analytics for Global Key Accounts across Southeast Asia.

The role provides the commercial intelligence that enables adidas to optimise sell-in, sell-out and in-season trading decisions, supporting Key Account Management and SEA leadership with fact-based insight and forward-looking analysis.

The Manager operates as the analytical engine of the Wholesale Planning & Operations function.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sell-In & Sell-Out Planning

  • Build and maintain SEA-level sell-in and sell-out forecasts by account, category, franchise and season.
  • Develop phasing, laddering and scenario plans based on historical performance, GTM calendars and current trends.
  • Track performance versus Plan and Last Year, identifying gaps and drivers.

2. Business Analytics & Performance Management

  • Analyse performance by category, division, franchise and style levels  to identify growth opportunities, risks and root causes.
  • Prepare business reviews, hindsight analyses and deep-dive diagnostics for SEA leadership and Key Account teams.
  • Monitor sell-through, availability, stock ageing and markdown pressure to assess commercial health.

3. In-Season Trading Support

  • Identify missed demand, oversupply and sell-out gaps across SEA markets.
  • Quantify replenishment, NOS, top-up and reallocation options, including expected impact on sell-in and sell-out.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support SEA trading and prioritisation decisions.

4. Reporting & Data Management

  • Own the production of weekly, monthly and quarterly performance dashboards covering sell-in, sell-out and inventory risk.
  • Ensure data is consistent, accurate and aligned across planning, reporting and analytics tools.
  • Act as the primary analytical point of contact for SEA Sales, Finance, Category and EM teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of retail and wholesale performance metrics (sell-in, sell-out, sell-through, availability, margin)
  • Proven ability to build and manage forecasts, plans and scenarios
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset
  • Ability to turn data into clear, actionable insight
  • High proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, MicroStrategy or similar)
  • Strong communication skills, able to present analysis clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Structured, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced regional environment
  • Fluent English
  • Familiarity with Python scripting would be an advantage. 

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree preferred
  • 3–6 years of experience in sales planning, business analytics, retail/wholesale planning or commercial roles
  • Strong experience working with sell-in, sell-out and performance data
  • Experience in sportswear, fashion, footwear or FMCG preferred
