Manager Global Procurement Distribution & Transportation
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Execute category best practices for the transport & logistics procurement sub-category including:

Co-definition and deployment of sourcing strategy for the transport & logistics procurement sub-category
-
Realization of stakeholder management to maximize total cost of ownership savings and Procurement’s value contribution
-
Realization of supplier relationship management and contract management activities
-
Assure achieving compliance targets with policies, strategies, and processes
-
Deliver committed annual Procurement savings targets
Key Responsibilities:
Execute sub-category strategy for transport & logistics procurement
-
Analyze the sub-category and define category profile, incl. risk assessment, supplier base assessment and Supplier Relationship Management strategy
-
Benchmark category best practices to identify initiatives for improvement
-
Support building sub-category specific strategic plan in alignment with relevant stakeholders
-
Align strategic (sourcing) plan to financial budget and global business strategies
-
Support / govern logistics sourcing strategy implementation to support market logistic strategy and savings realization on sub-category level
-
Execute defined sourcing initiatives as per the 7 steps strategic sourcing methodology
-
Deliver internal and external analysis (industry/market and supplier intelligence )
-
Consolidate requirements and act as business partner for business/ other functions,
-
Lead/ support contract implementation and drive contract compliance on a global basis
-
Deliver the required negotiation outcomes and savings according to the defined savings targets
Support the work and efforts of a cross-functional sourcing team in all stages of a strategic sourcing project within sub-category

Collaborate and align with global/ market/ country procurement teams as applicable
-
Drive/support alignment of roles and responsibilities on sourcing project level (operating model)
-
Drive/support RfX execution: supplier selection, fact-based negotiations
-
Collaborate and align with global/ market/ country procurement teams as applicable

Ensure savings methodology and tracking through close collaboration with GFF
-
Work with Procurement and business Leads in global and in markets to implement and activate contracts globally

Maintain tender calendar for sub-category (all markets / regions)
Manage commercial supplier relationship with key suppliers within the defined sub-category and market scope

Maintain and manage relationship with suppliers identified as key suppliers in the respective category, monitors performance of key strategic suppliers according to the guidelines
-
Lead supplier development activities; set up cross-functional review meetings with key strategic suppliers in order to improve performance and further cost / demand reductions

Manage relationship with key stakeholders and business representatives
-
Act as an escalation point for project related issues and drive resolution in line with global Procurement policies
-
Achieve “buy-in” from key stakeholders in the market for procurement initiatives
-
Create and outline contribution for budget improvements
-
Foster that business needs are being identified, represented and incorporated into category strategies
-
Act as Point of Contact for the business to assure business requirements are met
Key Relationships:

Procurement: (Senior) Director Procurement Global & Markets, Sr Procurement Category Managers

Supply Chain Management: Business and Supply chain management: Market Supply Chain managers and Sr Managers at regional/country Level
-
Other key business functions like Legal, Risk Mgmt., and Compliance, Insurance, GFF and GBS
-
Supplier Key Account and Sales Managers
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Intermediate knowledge in sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts, business partnering and category management (7 steps strategic sourcing, fact based negotiations, etc..)
-
Good background on transport & logistics processes and supply chain management, specifically on sub-category level
-
Good knowledge of how to execute a Procurement Category Strategy and conveyance
-
Strong knowledge of procurement tools and data mgmt., content and automation (E-sourcing , p2p -SRM & Ariba-, e-catalogues, buying channels, etc…)

Strong ability to analyze data, specifications and influence demand
-
Capability to independently interact throughout the adidas Group and to work with virtual teams
-
Knowledge and experience in projects and process management
-
Good analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
-
Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management
-
Proficiency in MS Office and preferably SAP MM/ SRM & Ariba
-
Fluent in English, spoken and written
-
Travel of up to 20%
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
-
A master’s degree with emphasis on the areas of transport & logistics, supply chain, business, economics, finance, procurement or legal, or comparable professional education
-
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ professional experience in a similar functional domain or other related positions
-
With knowledge of category at hand (Transportation and Logistics); experience with supplier selection, negotiation and contracting
