Senior Manager, Carrier Management

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The Senior Manager Transport & Logistics – Carrier Management is responsible for ensuring process and performance management in the Supply chain [E2E: Origin + Port to Port + Destination Operations]. The role will also work closely with the respective Logistics Operations teams, Markets, 3PLs and the Carriers to continuously find solutions for any operational escalations/disruptions, and the continuous improvement to optimize logistics solutions. Furthermore, the role will support the line manager in defining the overall strategic road map for service providers management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting: Developing and maintaining processes to ensure a high level of forecasting to carriers.
  • Carrier capacity management: Maintain and define booking guidelines and ensuring monthly allocations are done based on the tender awarded results.
  • Monthly & Quarterly Business Review Meetings: Running MBR & QBR sessions with all the 3PLs and the Carriers to enhance the operational performance and drive for business development with logistics partner together.
  • Process Consistency and Standardization: Maintain close interaction with Logistics Operations Team to ensure that requirements towards the vendors are aligned enabling a smooth interaction between vendors, 3PLs and the Carriers.
  • Global Tenders: Advise and ensure operational requirements are captured in alignment with logistics operations team and Markets to prepare the baseline for any tender activities within Global Logistics operations team. Develop the tender tool for data analysis and to make the foundation for decision making from operations’ perspective.
  • New LSP / Service providers integration: Develop processes for any operational implementation for the Logistics Operations in the case of new LSP, ship modes or any other logistics implementation.
  • Project Management: Evaluate areas for process complexity reduction in global logistics operations in close collaboration with the cluster leads. Enable the different pilot run and future scale up for running business. Analyze the impacts and propose the business solution for improvement opportunities.

Allocation Escalations and Performance Management:

  • Partner with 3PLs and the carriers to resolve issues in a timely especially on allocation issues ensuring the adidas supply chain is not disrupted.
  • Ensure LSP partners are clear on SOP, representing the Global Logistics Operations.
  • Drive the Lead time performance of different segmentation with all LSPs (including carriers) to achieve the on-time delivery as agreed in the tender process.
  • Provide support, guidance and coaching to the service providers and the carrier partners on the SOPs as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good planning and organizational skills, and ability to work and deliver on time in changing environments.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, including structured and detailed problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively and efficiently with the stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and highly driven.
  • Sound business sense and good judgement capabilities.
  • Team player.
  • Knowledge on MS-Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, and any additional analytic platform usage as well as automation function is a plus.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) and other relevant languages, if required.

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, logistics, planning, supply chain, information systems, or operations; MBA is a plus.
  • 6-8 years of work experience, ideally in an apparel/fashion supply chain management or a fast-moving logistics environment, particularly related to supplier/contract, project and supply chain management including an overall logistics responsibility.
  • Experience in multi-national transportation logistics and project management with the drive and energy to implement change.
