Visual Merchandising Assistant Manager

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

The mission of Assistant Manager of Visual Merchandising is to create and implement a visual merchandising strategy grounded in data-driven insights. This role involves supporting field visual merchandising and sales managers in developing effective retail programs that align with the company's financial projections while simultaneously enhancing brand-building initiatives. The Assistant Manager will focus on elevating the brand by ensuring flawless execution of visual merchandising in accordance with our established brand standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute visual merchandising strategies aligned with brand direction, marketing plans, and sales objectives
  • Develop, maintain, and implement visual merchandising concepts and standards at the store level, ensuring flawless execution that is consistently followed by all stores
  • Create detailed and actionable VM directives for product launches, maximizing the impact of campaigns to drive sell-through and enhance consumer experience. Utilize sales data and relevant metrics to continuously evaluate and refine VM strategies
  • Collaborate closely with field VM team and sales managers, leveraging insights into consumer profiles to establish optimal visual standards, shop installations, and in-store presentations
  • Take own on problem-solving and process improvements to enhance both the consumer journey and sales outcomes through effective use of visual elements
  • Deliver comprehensive VM reports and provide constructive critiques to retail and wholesale teams, effectively communicating VM concepts and guidelines to various internal and external stakeholders
  • Support new store openings by collaborating with Retail Development team to enhance store productivity and elevate the consumer shopping experience. Oversee all VM-related processes in new store opening and revamp projects, while effectively managing relationships with suppliers regarding deliverables
  • Develop zoning plans for both new and existing stores, taking into account sales trends and consumer profiles. Collaborate closely with retail operations team and sales managers to ensure optimal sales efficiency
  • Manage the logistics of materials required for stores and events, ensuring accurate record-keeping and maintaining an organized database
  • Ensure the smooth and timely execution of campaign preparations at the retail level, overseeing all visual merchandising activities across Hong Kong and Macau

 

Training

  • Take ownership of Visual Merchandising training for the retail sales operations team, as well as sales staff at adidas, franchise stores and key retailers, delivering training sessions on a regular basis
  • Create effective training plans and programs tailored for targeted accounts, aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of the retail staff
  • Focus on developing and nurturing subordinates, fostering their growth and professional development within the organization

 

 

Key Relationships:

  • Key interfaces (internal): Retail, Franchise and Wholesale team. Retail Operation team, Retail development team, Marketing team, Buying team and field sales force. Adidas Global and Greater China Consumer Experience team.
  • Key interfaces (external): Franchise Key Accounts, Suppliers

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, planning and executing visual merchandising strategies to maximize impact and drive sales
  • Strong background in data analysis to gain insights into consumer journeys and exhance visual merchandising planning
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, enabling effective teamwork with cross-functional groups
  • Proficient in leveraging operational, communication and leadhip abilities in fast-paced enviroments, with a proven track record of professional and business success
  • Strategic, resourceful and well organized, with a collaborative mindset and a results-oriented approach, complemented by strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A dedicated team player with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, adept at motivating teams, driving chang and leading effectively in dynamic settings.
  • Strong project management skills, ensuring all tasks are completed within the projected timeline
  • Be up- to-date on market competitors

IT:

  • Expertise in designing PowerPoint presentations and Excel for data analysis
  • Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese and/or Mandarin

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Visual Merchandising department with an international brand
  • Diploma /degree holder of Art or design related discipline
