Senior Manager Pattern Engineering Apparel

And it truly is, as they weave their passion into every single product. But translating designs, drawings and renderings into real products requires a lot of decision making.
As Senior Manager Pattern Engineering Apparel, you will lead and oversea all pattern engineering aspects for your business unit. You will contribute to the global size and fit strategy in close collaboration with the horizontal pattern engineering team, and will ensure business unit specific execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Pattern Engineering

Execute strategies leveraging industry-leading and efficient pattern development processes on a global scale, aligning with the overall objectives and vision of the organization and your business unit.

Leverage business unit specific pattern knowledge and expertise, and in alignment with the horizontal pattern engineering team to ensure consumer trends and needs are fully addressed.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams, divisions, and external partners. Be the business unit pattern engineering representative to liaise with Global Brand counterparts, ensuring seamless alignment of strategies and execution of complex subject matters.

Align with Development, Marketing, and Design to achieve business unit and horizontal objectives and goals.

Maintain proactive communication with the global pattern engineering community and cross-functional teams to ensure an efficient pattern creation process.

Proactively monitor development calendars, ensuring achievement of deadlines. Swiftly identify bottlenecks and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions.

Foster strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, divisions, brands, and external partners for seamless collaboration and effective pattern development.

Drive alignment across the pattern creation process, emphasizing consistency and uncompromising quality standards.

Build up a consultant/expert function within the global pattern team to train pattern engineers, product developers and T1.

Drive globally the basic pattern consolidation across all business units. Ensure aligned needs of all Creation Centers and markets and make the final call on basic pattern creation.

Communicate to internal and external teams seasonal product initiatives, process changes and long-term category vision.

Drive and execute key initiatives and provide input to short, mid and long term planning.

Build the appropriate structure to be able to manage the respective organization effectively, identify and develop the future talents and create realistic succession scenarios for key positions.

Ensure appropriate leadership skills are present at every level through creating a motivational and supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained and provided with career opportunities through development.

Allocate the different topics and work streams to the respective teams and employees considering experience, complexity, workload and organizational efficiency.

Continuously monitor and evaluate team workload and organizational efficiency with the support of systems, data and analysis and team feedback and make appropriate changes in order to meet business needs.

Provide team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and objectives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

Ability to deliver effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to diverse audiences

Advanced understanding in both 3D and 2D creation, with knowledge of current industry trends .

Ability to think strategically, anticipate and define problems, synthesize complex data and develop innovative solutions

Excellent software knowledge/skills (CAD software, virtual reality, graphic software)

Knowledge in apparel product creation tools and processes

Good understanding of sourcing allocation impact on product from a quality and cost perspective

Travel, domestic and international as required by business needs

Advanced IT skills in MS Office, Adobe applications and ability to work with Product Data Management Systems
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

Technical college/fashion school/university degree in pattern making/grading, “Meisterbrief” or equivalent education

Minimum of 5 years related work experience in apparel pattern engineering in multiple business units

First experience in managing a team is an advantage

- Employees are eligible to earn an annual bonus based on both company and personal performance. Employees accrue prorated flexible time off in the amount .4388 hours per day that increases with years of service, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year and Service Time Off during milestone years.
- The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $111,000 - $147,000. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.

At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Los Angeles, California.
