Manager, Fitness Marketing

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

To be the number one fitness brand in Japan, establish aspirational fitness brand image and ensure sustainable and profitable business through fitness initiatives in Japan. By understanding business goals as well as fitness marketing trends and local opportunities, this position is required to identify, negotiate, acquire and build relationships with athletes, fitness trainers and affiliates that are needed to create brand love and awareness.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • Execute fully integrated marketing programs to drive awareness of CrossFit, Les Mills, Reebok CrossFit Games, Les Mills ONE LIVE, etc. and elevate Reebok as a brand and an apparel/footwear provider
  • Supervise all fitness event-related topics in close relationship with local PR&Event team
  • Provide input to Global/APAC on local opportunities and trends to improve global Category & Range efficiency such as global range components
  • Accountable for scouting, recruiting, endorsing, and executing local athlete contracts
  • Responsible for the overall strategy and management of affiliates and trainers
  • Initiate, build and maintain affiliate relationships such as CrossFit, Les Mills, etc.
  • Support Reebok affiliates (CrossFit, Les Mills, etc.) and trainers (ReebokONE)
  • Ensure fitness and training managers set and uphold customer service standards
    • Set an energetic, helpful and friendly tone for all trainers
    • Establish genuine relationship with Reebok affiliates (CrossFit, Les Mills, etc.)
  • Communicate regularly with affiliates (CrossFit, Les Mills, etc.) and trainers (ReebokONE) via in-person and online meetings, and e-newsletters to keep them engaged
  • Ensure affiliates provide accurate information on grassroots events, product seeding, R&D sessions, and services to meet business goals
  • Activate partnership and establish Reebok CrossFit Games, Les Mills ONE LIVE, etc.
  • Build and execute regional activation plans working with global teams
  • Partner with CrossFit gym, Les Mills, and other affiliates to organize competition (sectional event) and build excitement around brand activation
  • Create grassroots marketing and seeding events
  • Host R&D sessions to create product awareness in gyms
  • Manage concept shops, delivery schedule and inventory
  • Financial & Budgetary
    • Develop monthly and annual business plans
    • Manage grassroots marketing budget

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Manager with strong interpersonal and influencing skills (e.g., relationship management, facilitation) and in-depth knowledge of fitness
  • Demonstrated success in grassroots marketing initiatives
  • Deep understanding of target consumer
  • Strong association with fitness, fashion, entertainment events, sport or media
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with solid business acumen
  • Ability to involve key stakeholders and gain support for initiatives
  • Basic MS office skills

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  

 

  • University degree in business marketing or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Competitive sports or fitness experience
  • More than 6 years of experience in (sports) marketing
  • 2-3 years of leadership experience
  • Fluent in writing and speaking English (bilingual is a plus)
