Manager Public Relations

Purpose

This role supports the day-to-day execution of public relations across lifestyle, sport performance, and culture—ensuring adidas stays present, relevant, and sharp in the eyes of media and tastemakers. From showroom organization and seeding logistics to campaign rollouts and media outreach, the Manager, PR helps keep the press engine running and the brand tapped into what’s next.

This person will lead execution on key PR initiatives—from seasonal product seeding programs to media-facing activations—and also play a critical support role across larger brand campaigns, working closely with senior PR leads, agency partners, and cross-functional teams.

We’re looking for someone who’s not just media-aware, but culturally fluent—someone who knows the DJs, photographers, stylists, and underground names making noise before they hit the mainstream. This person follows trends instinctively, understands the nuance of a good pitch, and brings fresh perspective to everything from press gifting to cultural partnerships. They should thrive in fast-paced environments and love balancing behind-the-scenes execution with outward-facing media energy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead execution of product seeding programs, press gifting, and sample logistics for seasonal and category moments.
  • Support senior team members on larger PR campaigns, including storytelling strategy, cross-functional planning, and media pitching.
  • Organize and maintain the seasonal press showroom; coordinate media walk-throughs, previews, and content visits.
  • Build and manage press lists, editorial calendars, and media databases across lifestyle, fashion, and culture verticals.
  • Assist with media outreach and coverage tracking across traditional, digital, and social-first platforms.
  • Collaborate with agency partners and internal teams to support seeding drops, activations, and earned-first moments.
  • Track and report on earned media coverage, campaign KPIs, and PR impact.
  • Contribute cultural POVs and trend insights to team brainstorms and strategy sessions.
  • Support press events, previews, and experiential activations from planning through execution.
  • Ensure the adidas Press Office runs smoothly, managing inboxes, requests, sample closets, and internal tools with consistency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid working knowledge of media relations, digital PR, and influencer/creator ecosystems.
  • Comfortable communicating with editors, stylists, and cultural connectors—whether via inbox or IRL.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills with the ability to support pitches, briefings, and recaps.
  • Naturally curious and trend-aware; stays tapped into relevant stories, talent, and moments in sport, fashion, and lifestyle.
  • Organized and proactive—can manage timelines, press lists, and product shipments with precision.
  • Confident using Canva or similar tools to build visually compelling PR decks, moodboards, and recap reports.
  • Familiar with media tracking tools and fluent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
  • Positive, collaborative team player with a willingness to roll up sleeves and support wherever needed.

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in public relations or brand communications (agency or brand-side).
  • Experience supporting PR campaigns, product seeding, or press engagement is preferred.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Employees are eligible to earn an annual bonus based on both company and personal performance. Employees accrue prorated flexible time off in the amount .4388 hours per day that increases with years of service, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year and Service Time Off during milestone years.
  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $93,000 - $125,000. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.
  • At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is New York, NY.
