Design Solutions Sr Manager Distribution Center
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Drive, implement and optimize distribution centers within a region, while ensuring that these projects are brought to a successful conclusion in line with the company strategy and enable the adidas Group to achieve operations excellence from an infrastructure, process and systems perspective. Also, review within Distribution Centers the facility design, material flows, process design, capacities and constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Regional Director, Managers and external consultants on DC projects including but not limited to retrofit projects, labor standards implementations, new facility design and implementation as well as four wall optimization efforts.
- Provide the warehouse technical expertise for solution design and optimization to address issues related to production, layout, internal flows, utilization, packaging material usage and methods of operations by using proven industrial engineering techniques.
- Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
- Implement solutions to reduce operational costs and lower cost per unit.
- Identify opportunities for standardization and sharing of best practices across Distribution Centers
- Develop business case inputs for large scale project initiatives on a regional level across all brands in regard to warehousing, ensuring a tangible analysis behind any initiative.
- Set up detailed project planning and milestone tracking relating to Material Handling Equipment (MHE) implementations.
- Develop and structure change management approaches for initiatives and ensure timely communication across the network, lead implementation of change management concept.
- Develop and maintain a project network with other relevant departments within Global Operations or adidas Group to get end-to-end transparency of project activity.

- Selected other functions across the Group based on projects, Global Real Estate, Corporate Communication team, Project Steering Boards, Project Directors/Managers, sponsors
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent analytical and quantitative abilities
- Action oriented and solution minded team player
- High degree of self-management, enthusiasm, drive to perform
- Technical knowledge in Manhattan WMS and Labor Management System
- Experience with Engineered labor standard, predetermined motion time study system (MTM, MOST)
- Distribution expert with a specific focus on warehousing and distribution execution strategies.
- Technical knowledge as it relates to DC automation is recommendable (i.e., ASRS, Mini-Load, Goods to Man, sortation) and Warehouse Control Systems
- Excellent planning and organization skills, and ability to work and deliver in changing environments, under limited guidance while adhering to specified deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and in writing, to interact effectively and efficiently on different layers of the organization and with external providers
- Excellent ability to mediate and bring cross-functional stakeholders with different objectives to agree on a consensus
- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
- Fluent in Portuguese as an advantage
- Proficiency in project management related tools and software
- Willing to invest and increase career development potential
- Willingness and ability to travel
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- 6+ years of relevant management experience in an operation environment
- University degree in engineering, concentration in Industrial Engineering preferred
- Experience in consumer goods or retail warehousing preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD
