Sr. Manager, Inbound Logistics
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
To lead inbound processes for shipment of goods from origin countries to destination ports, considering market priorities and local requirements. Goal is to ensure on time in full deliveries with end to end efficiency; seeking to implement a smooth standard process throughout the region with continuous improvements consider the automation and digitalization of the process.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Ensure the creation of container load plans under consideration of sales and marketing prioritizations and optimal container capacity.
- Monitoring of air freight and sea freight shipments to secure on time deliveries.
- Ensure accurate, relevant and on time shipment information / visibility to the countries.
- Develop and successfully execute regional projects with Global Logistics.
- Calculation of transport costs inside the air freight authorization process.
- Develop and successfully implement digital logistics tools.
- Guarantee that relevant documentation is delivered on time for the countries to issue import documents to avoid any delays or surcharges on the custom process.
- Responsibility to negotiate and manage freight forwarders, monitor their service levels according to agreement and guarantee the performance review and the execution of the MBRs.
- To manage shipping instructions by GPS customer.
- Responsible to manage and develop department SOPs.
- Responsible to develop actions plans against key performance indicators.
- Monitor and secure correct consolidation process for all direct shipments consider the requested delivery dates by customers.
- Analyze and communicate any impact related to changes in shipments. Define action plan and alternatives to mitigate negative impacts to the company.
- Lead change management in the team by developing operating strategies, plans or procedures to maximize standardization, simplification and centralization.
- Deploy agreed strategic decisions on logistics and infrastructure topics with Global Logistics.
- Secure that the forwarder presents accurate and on time information aligned with the inbound logistics internal process.
- Responsible to track all transit times by origin in order to identify any variation, validate with freight forwarder and drive changes in SAP when needed.
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with all our cross functional departments: country customs, global logistics, SCM finance controlling, products supply, order fulfilment and availability teams.
- Ensure that the inbound logistics team has the right KPI´s and review on annual basis to ensure alignment with top business priorities.
- Plan and communicate effectively the tender´s for ocean and air freight vendors to ensure zero interaction to the business.
- Secure holistic inbound logistics report to monitor arrival status, efficiency workload and cost.
- Develop standard tools and reports to effectively communicate detailed information of shipments to all stakeholders.
- Lead in solving significant trade issues in conjunction with all interface parties.
- Ensure Global SOP´s adherence to regional processes.
Leadership:
- Set performance targets and provide ongoing coaching and effective feedback with each direct report aiming at reliable service and higher level of professionalism.
- Secure a collaboration environment with all direct reports on all interfaces.
- Frequent evaluation of the team and delivery feedback on monthly basis.
- Proactively seek feedback for improving organization and work processes.
- Responsible for the training of direct reports as well as helping them to develop specific individual training plan.
- Develop backup and succession plan.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- MS Office (Excel/Access; Outlook; Word; PowerPoint, PowerBI, DataBriks).
- Fluent in English (written and oral).
- Motivating and leading complex teams.
- Excellent knowledge of overall trade and logistics processes.
- Analytical and process thinking.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines with planning and organization skills.
- Ability to challenge the way in which things are done.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills both externally and internally.
- Preferred knowledge in logistics management system such as GT Nexus and SAP.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent education required.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience, preferably in Logistics.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing people.
