Key Account Manager - Dick's Sporting Goods
KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER DICKS SPORTING GOODS
PURPOSE
Lead the product and brand strategy for key categories within one of the most influential sporting goods retailers in the United States. In this role, you will guide sell in and sell through, partner with merchandising and retail activation teams, and deliver sustainable, profitable growth for adidas at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Your work will elevate our presence, strengthen category impact, and inspire consumers through exceptional retail execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
DRIVE SALES AND PROFITABILITY
Use strong business acumen and retail mathematics to influence performance, optimize opportunities, and support long term growth.
BUILD STRATEGIC SALES PLANS
Develop data informed sales plans that align account goals with brand and category objectives while identifying opportunities through market and consumer trends.
LEAD SELL IN AND SELL THROUGH EXECUTION
Shape category direction and partner across marketing and retail teams to activate programs that enhance visibility, sell through, and consumer engagement.
STRENGTHEN INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPS
Collaborate across teams and build relationships with key account partners to ensure seamless processes, clear communication, and joint success.
ENSURE OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Deliver accurate reporting and forecasting, and manage compliance, credit claims, and account related issues to resolution.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of key retail and profitability metrics
- Ability to apply financial data to influence outcomes
- Skilled in creating logical assortment plans based on space, inventory, and sell through
- Effective communicator and negotiator across diverse partners
- Strong presentation abilities with experience crafting holistic brand stories
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or related field
- Minimum eight years of field sales experience, preferably with key accounts in consumer goods or sporting goods
- Ability to travel up to 50 percent
- Ability to lift and carry samples up to 25 lbs

- At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Pittsburgh, PA.
