Assistant Construction Manager (Project Coordination)
PURPOSE
Assist with all pre-construction related tasks in regard to new store openings (NSO) and renovations across North America. This role will support the Construction team by managing external vendors, completing administrative tasks, and supporting the projects development from conception through completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Construction Manager with all construction related tasks throughout a project's lifecycle, supporting the overall projects success.
- Support during the pre-construction phase to ensure projects remain organized and are set up for long term success.
- Support in vendor management by coordinating with external vendors ensuring the relative scope of work from a quality and timeline perspective is aligned with the overall construction schedule.
- Assist in tracking the project’s budget and schedule by identifying risks and determining solutions in partnership with the Construction Manager.
- Support the team during the store closure/relocation process, as needed.
- Support the warranty program by tracking store team requests and coordinating with the contractors and vendors for one year following an NSO.
- Support the construction team with administrative tasks including lien waiver collection, document tracking, financial forecasting, and other miscellaneous tasks, as needed.
- Support the greater Store Development team with other duties, as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Experience interpreting complex construction drawings with the ability to understand the intended design scope based off a 2D print.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and leverage business partners across multiple functions within an organization, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to utilize software’s such as the Microsoft Suite, Smartsheet, ProCore, PlanGrid, and Revu BlueBeam
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities and multitask at a high level during stressful situations.
- Driven and goal oriented with a solution-based approach to everyday problems.
- Knowledge of retail store layouts with a focus on the consumer journey.
- Ability to foster a cooperative business environment in office and onsite.
- While onsite, ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours a day, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
REQUISITE EDUCTION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university in construction management, business, finance, architecture, or related field. An associates degree from an accredited trade school may be substituted following 2 years of relevant work experience.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience on a construction management team or experience on a project management team, or in a supervisory role.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
- Ability to alternate between sitting and standing for extended periods of time
