Assistant Manager, Buying
PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION
Support the Buying and Trading process across assigned DTC channels, specifically Factory Outlet which includes Clearance Doors. Timely assist the OTB planning and management, defining optimal volumes to provided channel ranges. Support execution of in-season Trading decisions to meet store stock requirements and net sales and margin goals. This includes chasing product in season via the consolidated excess process in order to augment assortments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support to the buying process for the assigned channels and ensure right volumes are bought following market OTB plans.
- Prepare the submission of initial seasonal forecasts into applicable systems for horizontal review by global functions at key milestones.
- Assist the size breakdowns process assuring they are created according to market needs and incorporated in the buying process
- Support market seasonal stock position assuring the right volumes are available in stores and distribution centers, and inform of changes to Allocation teams
- Assist market in-season trading, assuring timely sales forecast by product, stock intakes and in-season markdowns. Chase product needs through consolidated excess process to help drive Sales and Margin
- Support the execution according to market relevant store tiering process following global store tiering guidance.
- Assist effective flow of stock from regular DTC channels to FO channels to assure product relevance in regular stores, adequate stock clearance and margin optimization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Holistic thinker – able to drive end-to-end strategies and initiatives encompassing multiple functions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
- Broad and deep theoretical understanding of channel operations and retail math
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years typical relevant work experience
- University degree in business, ideally with marketing and sales focus or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
- Ability to alternate between sitting and standing for extended periods of time

For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Portland, OR.
