Assistant Manager Buying
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Support and own the buying process for specific categories, including trading and collaborating with cross-functional partners for adidas US Concept Stores. Execute in-season trading decisions to meet category financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Season
- Develop a full seasonal strategy within the owned categories that support business and market trends, while collaborating with planning, marketing and business units for full alignment.
- Support the submission of seasonal forecasts and size curves into applicable systems at key buying milestones.
- Present strategies to leadership and cross-functional partners.
In-Season
- Responsible for meeting in-season sales and margin targets.
- Recap business weekly/monthly/seasonally and react to business needs as they arise in a timely manner.
- Provide in-season trading to business partners to drive future strategy and range needs.
- Closely collaborate with allocation to ensure product is assorted on time and in alignment with business strategy and market-relevant store tiering needs.
- Work with the planning team in monthly OTBs to align on season forecasts based on sales trends.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Relevant job experience in a buying function
- Naturally curious and collaborative.
- Holistic thinker – able to drive end-to-end strategies and initiatives encompassing multiple functions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
- Fluent in English
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of relevant work experience; University degree in business or merchandising, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to alternate between sitting and standing for extended periods of time
- At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday
