CATEGORY MANAGER - OUTDOOR
PURPOSE
Shape the future of adidas Outdoor by supporting the development and execution of strategies that elevate the Apparel and Accessories business in the U.S. market. As Category Manager Outdoor, you will provide key insights that guide seasonal plans, influence product direction, and strengthen alignment between global teams, U.S. marketing, and sales partners. Your work will support financial goals across net sales, margin, inventory, and SKU productivity while ensuring that our category reflects the global brand vision and resonates with consumers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPPORT CATEGORY STRATEGY AND RANGE DEVELOPMENT
Assist in building seasonal marketing strategies and assortment plans that provide clear direction to operational teams and align to category priorities.
CREATE MERCHANDISING AND ASSORTMENT PLANS
Build channel‑specific assortments and merchandising plans for key moments, partnering closely with Sports Marketing and Brand Communications to bring authentic stories to life.
BRIDGE MARKET AND GLOBAL TEAMS
Provide timely market feedback to global product and merchandising teams, sharing insights that influence product needs, lifecycle strategies, and long‑term direction.
LEAD CROSS FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
Work across sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment on category goals, GTM milestones, and actions required to support commercial success.
ANALYZE AND OPTIMIZE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE
Identify high‑potential products, evaluate opportunities, manage forecasts, and deliver reporting that supports clarity and decision‑making across the category.

- Strong business acumen across distribution channels, sales, margin, and inventory

- Strong merchandising skills across channels and accounts
- Proficiency with MS Office and digital tools
QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Four‑year degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum three years of industry experience
- Merchandising experience in sporting goods preferred
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25 percent

- At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Portland, OR.
