Go-to-Market Merchandising Manager - NCAA, Licensed, Team

 

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Own Merchandising and Go-to-Market (GTM) process for assigned NCAA/Licensed/Team sport categories to support business requirements and sales goals.

Through a proactive and solution-oriented approach, execute strategies to deliver against GTM calendar milestones, Key KPIs (eg. Net Sales/Margin, Inventory, SKU productivity) and delivery/launch excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Strategic Seasonal Merchandising plans based on Consumer and Marketplace needs while also meeting Key Business Metrics/KPIs (focusing on the sport categories assigned)
  • Educate and Influence Creation/Business Unit partners to ensure product needs of our Consumer, Market, Channel are met
  • Collaborate with key Commercial and Sales partners to determine account and channel needs, address opportunities and build plans to achieve business targets
  • Drive GTM Excellence by collaborating with key functions to ensure products are delivered on time and in full (Demand Planning, Purchasing and Order Fulfillment)
  • Own Business Tracking of assigned categories, including: bookings/sell-through analysis, forecast/inventory planning, launch recaps, seasonal hindsighting, etc.
  • Drive Sell-In Needs for assigned categories, including: sample ordering, system management, building sales collateral, internal/external product presentations, etc.
  • Connect with key stakeholders across Business Units, Sports Marketing and Brand Marketing to deliver consumer relevant authentic stories

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to be Highly Collaborative and Influential across all functions and levels of the organization
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong competence in analyzing and manipulating data to make decisions and communicate objectives
  • Excellent Systems Competence (examples below)
  • Microsoft Office Suite - especially Excel and Powerpoint
  • Adidas-specific Merchandising Systems/Tools
  • Power BI
  • Strong business acumen to support critical business needs (net sales, margin, range efficencies and inventory management)
  • Ability to be Proactive and Solution Oriented
  • Prior knowledge of the Team Sports/Licensed industry is preferred

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree with emphasis on the areas of merchandising, business, finance, or marketing or comparable professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of merchandising, product marketing or planning experience
