Manager Buying (Buyer)
PURPOSE AND OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION
Join the team shaping the future of sport retail. As a Buyer for our Factory Outlet channel, you’ll play a key role in optimizing product volumes, driving in-season trading decisions, and contributing to financial success across our Direct-to-Consumer business. This role is your opportunity to influence assortment strategies and ensure our stores deliver the best experience to consumers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the buying process for the Factory Outlet channel, aligning volumes with market Open-To-Buy plans
- Prepare seasonal forecasts and size breakdowns that reflect market needs and consumer demand
- Analyze weekly business performance and recommend strategic actions to maximize opportunities
- Manage in-season trading including sales forecasting, stock intake, markdowns, and excess procurement
- Execute store tiering and stock flow strategies to optimize product relevance and margin performance
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Collaborate across dynamic teams including Planning, Allocation, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and Visual Excellence to bring our brand vision to life.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proven expertise in buying processes, systems, and retail math
- Advanced proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, macros, and lookup formulas
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in retail KPIs
- Effective communicator across teams and formats
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business Management or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in a buying function
- Experience managing vendor relationships

At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is PORTLAND.
