Category Manager: Run Events and Collabs

 

Purpose:

This category manager role will lead the end to end merchandising execution for NAM running event based collections and partner collaborations. They will ensure seamless cross functional alignment from concept to consumer launch. This role will focus on delivering premium, consumer right assortments tied to major running moments and collaborations.  This role is responsible for driving net sales, net margin, managing inventory, and article productivity for events and collaborations. In addition, the role requires close monitoring and co-ordination with demand planning and supply chain to ensure buys are made, deadlines are met and on time delivery is secured. 

 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Product Merchandising responsibility of race collections and collaborations (apparel/footwear/accessories)
  • Range management, revenue and financial oversight, identify areas of investment and growth.
  • Preparation of high quality tools for internal and external partners.   
  • Influence global creation.  Manage local creation: partner with graphics and PDX creation center.
  • Prepare and deliver North America perspective at key milestones.
  • Monitor business performance, sell through and trends.
  • Execution: ensure collections and collaborations are tracked and monitored and land in market on time, in full.

  • Strong product aesthetic acumen.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and working with systems/applications
  • Ability to travel domestic and international up to 25%

Qualifications

  • Four-year college or university degree
  • Minimum three (3) years industry related experience
  • Previous merchandising experience in the sporting goods industry preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree

For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Portland OR.
