Manager Product Styling

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

The aspiration of this role is to drive brand advocacy and style momentum by bringing to life Adidas best products with their key partners.

 

You will be in charge of identifying key looks and products for local activation (moments, social, PR), in line with consumer relevance and strategic priorities driving brand heat in order to maximize visibility and excitement.

 

You will be a part of the partner activation team NAM/US, and will ensure the brand is “always on” in the eyes of our consumers, as they view their favorite athletes and artists through the lens of social and PR.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification of key looks across current & future seasons, thoughtfully curating “the look”, which are then aligned to NAM brand priorities, activations and moments.
  • Manage a group (external) of stylist that can be activated exclusively to priority athletes or one-off request through brand activation moments.
  • Develop best practices in sharing product recommendations and templates e.g. styling look books
  • Represent the Newsroom product perspective throughout the go-to-market process and support identifying key product stories that has the ability to trend or go viral.
  • Collaborate with Sports Marketing player reps, stylist, content teams and to properly brief the partner (athlete) on activating key looks.
  • Support product seeding & activation meetings, to ensure all deliverables are met: sourcing & securing product, alignment on the look and landing the product on the athlete.
  • Own the sample and promo ordering process, including ordering in time to meet deadlines, delivery tracking, arranging delivery of samples to shoots/agency partners and any troubleshooting required.
  • Ensure relevant product is available (production, appearance) upon each athlete request which may require local-to-global product creation conversations e.g. open up size curves and molds, extended sizing
  • Coordinate and manage the product inventory and own closet organization as well as the return process.
  • Input on globally curated outfits and ranges based on local needs and priorities.
  • Elevate and enhance the product aspect of local commercial moments through data insights and learnings from previous seasons, market trends, etc.
  • By project level scope and priority, manage and coordinate all aspects of partner content strategy as it relates to production, including budget, vendor and asset management to completion.
  • Drive partner activation project deliverables adhering to all deadlines, milestones and processes.
  • Participate in team wide editorial meetings, Social/PR and partner activation updates.
  • Together with the other Partner Publishing and Partner Activation teams around the world, help execute the coordinated adidas presence on all relevant partner channels to maximize global and local impact.
  • Ensure key analytics are being used to measure effectiveness of programs and continually evolve the digital strategy.
  • Bring consumer insight & thought, industry and trends across the Partner Activation and greater Newsroom team. Help support the implementation from ideas to action.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent understanding of key look creation, styling and brand guidelines
  • Previous experience in Fashion/Styling
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills and high level of strategic & critical thinking
  • Strong understanding of social and digital publishing.
  • Strong experience in the field of social / digital media or working in an editorial media capacity.
  • Strong writing, research, presentation and project management skills
  • Diverse knowledge of social media platforms
  • Deep knowledge of brand marketing functions and interactions.
  • Experience and knowledge of International Fast Moving Consumer Goods Industry preferably from Fashion Industry with sport relevance.
  • Good understanding of cross functional business processes.
  • Ability to manage and / or collaborate with internal and external cross-functional groups: product marketing, communications, social, digital and retail.
  • Experience influencing a broad and diverse team, and navigating within a global environment.
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills
  • Knowledge, passion and understanding of sports & culture
  • Proven experience in content creation for social

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent education required
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in marketing, product planning, project management, partner activation or a related field in fashion & styling.
  • Experience in leading x-functional programs.
  • Extensive experience working in global and virtual team structures.

For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Portland, Oregon.
