Manager System Operations

 

Purpose

The Manager Systems Operations is responsible the implementation of digital tools for the

merchandising organization, change management, and is the long-term business process

owner of these tools in NAM. It is the responsibility of the Systems Manager to have a thorough

understanding of the digital tools, business processes, and how to leverage and enhance the systems to meet business requirements.  Additionally, the Manager Systems Operations is responsible for coaching the merchandising organization on data best practices, creation of tactical controls, and the management of tactical controls to further improve data integrity.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage systems that enable sell-in processes from ranging to forecasting and data/image readiness
    • Act as administrator of specific systems
    • First point of contact to troubleshoot systems and user errors
    • Collect business needs, submit detailed enhancement specifications, and determine priorities for IT and/or external business partners
    • Create and manage testing plan, incorporating users of system enhancements and solutions
    • Determine best practices and ensure adherence by the business users of the systems
    • Lead user training sessions both in person and online
    • “Key user” advocate for system users and key stakeholders to IT
    • Create business process documentation for IT and end users
    • Utilize both system and external data to developing reporting suite for end users
  • Implement a structured change management approach to support the education of individuals and teams to deliver a holistic understanding of the new tools and the product[1]led organization. Ensure a smooth transition and roll-out of solutions.
  • Connect roles, tools, data, and ways of working to strategic concepts and initiatives across the brand organization.
  • Manage junior staff members directly or indirectly to monitor workload, drive toward market objectives, and enhance personal development.
  • Manage relationship with external vendors to deliver system enhancements on time and
  • within budget constraints and to ensure quality control of releases.
  • Communication to the project leaders and stakeholders at key milestones to ensure teams are mobilized and informed.
  • Either a merchandising background with an aptitude for digital tools or an IT background with evidence of merchandising acumen
  • Lead or be part of all projects that have a merchandising data impact or could benefit from merchandising data input.
  • Create training materials for Digital Brand Solutions and lead training sessions where appropriate.
  • Plan customer onboarding waves with the Brand Operation Ops & merchandising teams and leadership teams to successful onboarding.

  • Team player with an ability to think cross functionally and develop innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Access, Excel Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and familiarity with data visualization and tools
  • Microsoft SQL experience with the ability to review SQL language queries and the ability to generate queries ad-hoc
  • Ability to think cross functionally and develop innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment
  • Understanding in fundamental database design and development, ability to gather data from multiple sources and manipulate the data to develop demand-driven and action-based reporting and analysis
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Assistant Managers, stakeholders, cross functional business leaders and peers
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and oral

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, four-year college or university degree preferred; or relevant work experience (equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience focusing on merchandising systems, product catalog systems, retail systems or product management systems in a retail products company
  • Microsoft SQL experience with the ability to review SQL language queries and the ability to generate queries ad-hoc
  • Previous experience working in a Retail company preferred.
