Senior Manager GBS Payroll
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
Responsible for managing accurate payroll execution, payroll process consistency and payroll data accuracy with a focus on payroll accounting and taxes for North America. Responsible for compliance with Federal, State and local regulations, laws and standards as well as customer satisfaction for payroll delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accurate and timely filing of payroll taxes, payments, and other statuary information requests in multiple jurisdictions (USA and Canada). Identify solutions for routine payroll-related issues and organization of team to meet rigid payroll deadlines.
- Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of payroll specialists to ensure that the strategic priorities are effectively implemented.
- Develop, implement, and recommend processes and procedures to create efficiency and standardization. Maintains complete and accurate policy and procedure documentation.
- Actively participate in HR Projects and lead projects related to payroll, payroll processes and payroll systems, continuously driving improvement.
- Collaborate with the corporate tax on all payroll tax related matters and with accounting related to month end process.
- Responsibility for delivering processing of biweekly, monthly, quarterly and year end activities, including balancing, reporting, administering W2, W2-C, T4s, RTL1s.
- Ensures all payrolls, accounting and auxiliary system requirements are met regarding tax set-up, tax deposits, tax filing, yearend reconciliations. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations as well as wage and hour laws.
- Ensure timely communication of changes to payroll policies, procedures, and regulations to employees and stakeholders.
- Act as the subject matter expert to ensure that the compliance risk for all relevant regulations, laws and employment standards is adhered to. Stay current on changes to payroll processing policies, internal procedures, and software updates.
- Ensure appropriate handling for inbound & outbound international employees including shadow payroll when required
- Process reports for internal management and external audit requests, including biweekly and quarterly reporting, re-classing and analysis to the Finance Team.
- Respond to more complex, escalated enquiries from team members and resolve difficult enquiries from and recommend solutions for Rewards Experts, HR Partner, Finance, and employees
- Manage on-going relationships with external suppliers and consultants (e.g. payroll and system consultants, tax authorities, etc.) to include selected vendors, managing contracts and ensuring satisfactory service standards

- At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 8+ years of work experience in the field of payroll administration
- 2+ years managerial experience
- High level of affinity to and experience with Business computing solutions, ideally with SAP-HR
- Experience working in an international company
- Willingness to travel if required
- Excellent knowledge of MS-Office applications
- Experience in leading and managing Teams
