Senior Manager NCAA

Purpose:
Lead and manage the NCAA licensing partnerships for each University based on our contractual rights set
fourth within our Sports Marketing contracts. Key focus will be to ensure adidas is meeting its licensing
obligations and minimum guarantees each season. Lead cross-functional collaboration to maximize sales ROI
within our rights for both adidas and any other 3rd party licensee. In this role you will also be asked to support
the planning and execution of the NCAA Sports Marketing Portfolio Strategy. Develop and implement seasonal
analysis for our NCAA school portfolio framework to deliver best in class partnerships and ensure adidas be on
the biggest stage of sport.
 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Primary contact and oversight to all NCAA SPOMA Licensing Directors
  • Liaison between NCAA Licensing Directors and all adidas internal partners to answer all logo and trademark questions and relay detailed information on upcoming special events product or brand initiatives that are created by the various adidas business units.
  • Responsible for negotiating and executing correct Licensing language into each SPOMA partnership contract.
  • External Licensing partnership management, including all disclosures, approvals and reporting (CLC, NCAA, etc.)
  • Full coordination and alignment with Marketing + GTM team to ensure accuracy in embargo and launch timelines.
  • Execute and optimize existing external reporting including monthly royalty tracking, mid-window booking analysis and seasonal booking analysis tailored to each Licensing Director.
  • Consult in the ongoing planning of a third-party licensee to maximize the licensed business to meet market needs.
  • To support development and implementation of the overall strategy for the SPOMA NCAA portfolio based on global and Market strategies jointly with the Senior Director.
  • Evaluation and financial modelling within acquisition, divestment, and partnership.
  • Supporting negotiation and execution of these with the Senior Director and other applicable business partners.
  • To establish the appropriate SLAs and KPIs related to all internal and external experiences with the SPOMA NCAA Locker Room framework in line with the Global blueprint.
  • Liaison to WHSL Excellence + Digital teams to ensure proper operationalization within NCAA SPOMA.
  • Strength in cross functional relationships across all business partners to ensure effective communication and aligned execution within the space

  • Track record of strong business judgement and analyse data to improve strategic decision making
  • Ability to build relationships with executive leadership, across multiple internal functions, licensing agencies and partner school Administration
  • Skill in collaborating and influencing in a heavily matrix organization
  • Strong management skills, proven leadership and the ability to develop and direct a team
  • Excellent follow up and communications skills
  • Ability to steer implementation of creative marketing plans
  • Ability to manage, develop and motivate internal and external project teams
  • Strong financial acumen and financial analysis experience
 

Qualifications (Minimum required education and experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum 10+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (MBA preferred)High level of experience in leading a multifunctional organization
  • Proven track record of collaboration and people management preferre
  • A good understanding of NCAA collegiate sports and industry is a plus.

  • For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday.
