Sr Director, Data Analytics NAM Strategy

General Purpose

As Senior Director of Digital Analytics at Adidas North America (NAM) you will lead the Data and Analytics function for the Digital & eCommerce organization shaping how we use data, insights and technology to drive better commercial decisions and the greatest business impact.This is a leadership role at the intersection of commercial strategy, digital growth, analytics, technology and people leadership.

 

You will help the organization ask better questions, make better decisions and build a strong culture of data-driven leadership. You will be accountable for raising the bar for the analytics organization by strengthening our strategic capabilities, creating greater accountability, building trusted partnerships with senior business stakeholders and developing a high-performing team.

 

A critical part of the role will be helping Adidas NAM Digital team navigate the rapidly evolving world of AI and advanced analytics. You will establish where AI can fundamentally change how analytics is delivered, accelerate adoption of relevant technologies and ensure our organization is building the capabilities required for the future, not simply optimizing for today

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

1. Commercial Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the Digital & eCommerce leadership team, connecting analytics directly to business strategy and commercial outcomes.
  • Translate complex data and analytics into clear, actionable recommendations that influence decisions and drive measurable business impact.
  • Bring a strong understanding of eCommerce, digital marketing, customer, product and commercial performance to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Establish analytics as a trusted and influential voice in strategic planning, trading, forecasting, customer growth and performance management.
  • Build strong relationships across Digital, eCommerce, Marketing, Finance, Technology and other functions to create a connected view of the consumer and business.
  • Hold the organization accountable for translating insights into action and measuring the resulting business impact.

 

2. Strategic Analytics Leadership

  • Define and execute a forward-looking analytics strategy aligned to the NAM Digital business agenda.
  • Evolve the organization from reporting and descriptive analytics toward predictive, prescriptive and decision-oriented analytics.
  • Establish clear priorities and an analytics roadmap focused on the highest-value business opportunities.
  • Strengthen our capabilities across areas such as customer analytics, marketing effectiveness, eCommerce performance, personalization, forecasting, experimentation, attribution and commercial optimization.
  • Create a clear framework for prioritizing analytics investments based on business value, scalability and strategic importance.
  • Establish high standards for analytical rigor, storytelling, visualization and executive communication.
  • Partner with global analytics, data and technology teams to leverage enterprise capabilities while ensuring North America business needs are effectively represented.

 

3. AI & Analytics Transformation

  • Define the AI strategy for Analytics, identifying where emerging technologies can materially improve how we generate insights and make decisions.
  • Accelerate adoption of AI-enabled analytics, automation and self-service capabilities across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI to increase the speed, scale and quality of analytical work, while maintaining appropriate governance, accuracy and human judgment.
  • Challenge traditional analytics processes and operating models to determine what should be automated, augmented or fundamentally reimagined.
  • Partner with Technology, Data and Global teams to evaluate and scale emerging AI capabilities.
  • Stay ahead of developments in AI, analytics and data technology and translate relevant innovation into practical business applications.

 

4. Team Leadership & Accountability

  • Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing analytics organization with a strong culture of ownership, accountability, curiosity and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, decision rights and expectations across the analytics organization.
  • Raise the bar on talent, ensuring we have the right capabilities, leadership depth and organizational structure for the future.
  • Develop strong analytical and commercial capabilities across the team through coaching, mentoring and exposure to senior business leaders.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold leaders and teams accountable for delivery, quality and business impact.
  • Build an environment that attracts, develops and retains exceptional analytics talent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Business or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in analytics, data science, business intelligence, digital analytics or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience leading analytics organizations in a complex, digitally enabled consumer, retail, eCommerce or similar environment.
  • A strong understanding of digital commerce, customer behavior, marketing, product and commercial performance.
  • Experience with advanced analytics, experimentation, predictive modeling, data products and/or modern analytics platforms.
  • A strong understanding of the emerging AI landscape and its implications for analytics.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complexity without losing analytical rigor.
  • A leadership style that combines high standards with high support, creating both accountability and an environment where people can do their best work.

  • At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Portland, OR.
