Assistant Buyer - German Speaker
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Execute tactical buying of low-value items within the given thresholds, including conducting supplier identification from preferred suppliers list, negotiation, and supplier selection; deliver sourcing results to contribute to saving targets while ensuring that Service Level Agreements with the business are being met; Support procurement automation by continuously seeking opportunities to increase catalog coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execution of tactical buying process within a defined lower threshold
- Conduct e-Sourcing events in Ariba Sourcing
- Initiate order signature process and follow-up on distribution to supplier
- Approve/modify/Reject POs related to Tactical Buying
- Based on Category Director and manager guidance, execute RfQs, for potential catalog items including contracting based on standard contract templates
- Support automated buying channel introductions by facilitating the interaction between suppliers and Content Specialists
- Ensure compliance throughout the entire process

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English and German
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies, approaches, and methods
- Knowledge of contract management, compliance management, and analytics
- Good ability to analyze specifications and influence demand
- Communication skills and the capability to independently interact with different stakeholders
- Action-oriented and solution-minded team player with a high degree of self-management
- Pro-active mindset in terms of identifying opportunities to drive automation
- Curious and growth mindset; keen to learn and approach subjects outside of comfort zone, look beyond the obvious
- Experience in a Shared Service environment or similar is a plus
- Experience with SAP Ariba Sourcing is an advantage
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree with an emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal, or comparable professional education
- General business experience, preferably in the Procurement area (low to mid-level spend) in a middle sized or large organization
- Basic experience within supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting area is obligatory.
