Director GBS Procurement
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
This is a senior leadership opportunity to lead GBS Procurement for Europe. The Director will combine procurement expertise, commercial judgement and disciplined execution to deliver measurable savings, strong customer experience and develop a high-performing team that acts as a trusted partner to the business.
The Director carries end-to-end accountability for the Source-to-Pay process within the role’s scope, from translating business needs into clear requirements to aligning strategy and leading deployment. In close partnership with other relevant functions, the role will remove barriers, strengthen handoffs and ensure process excellence, continues improvement.
As part of Porto’s Senior Leadership Team, the Director GBS Procurement represents GBS Porto in global STP forums, including Market update meetings and internal GBS discussions. The role also drives performance, engagement, retention and development through clear leadership and inclusive practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Broad procurement and business leadership experience, with the ability to connect Source-to-Pay operations, commercial priorities, customer needs and financial outcomes.
- Lead day-to-day GBS Procurement operations with clear priorities, ownership, service standards and follow-up, ensuring reliable delivery for European business.
- Overall leadership focus on performance and talent management, values, management and self-management practices accoring the adidas leadership framework.
- Create and maintain skill matrix for personal development planning of the different team members as well as to minimize risk of business disruption
- Develop operational business continuity and risk mitigation plans and ensure stability of GBS Procurement processes.
- Drive improvements of GBS Procurement operations
- Drive continuous improvement activities in the region to enable process efficiency, user compliance, and customer satisfaction
- Demonstrate and deepen awareness of new technological solutions for procurement operations, that will enhance process improvements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Broad procurement and business leadership experience, with the ability to connect Source-to-Pay operations, commercial priorities, customer needs and financial outcomes.
- Proven ability to build, lead, manage and develop operations team and its members into an effective team to drive achievement of objectives
- Strong knowledge of processes, functions and stakeholder structures and how the organization interacts with its internal and external customers
- Excellent problem analysis skills and willingness to make business recommendations and decisions
- Strong knowledge of change management, shaping and applying change management methods to facilitate change
- Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a business setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a multi-team environment to achieve consensous decisions, always having adidas consistent growth in mind

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree in usiness, economics, finance, procurement or legal, or related areas
- At least 7+ years working experience with 5+ years of experience with proven track record in managing and leading operational delivery teams in a Shared Service organization
- A recognized qualification in process management / improvement (e.g. Six Sigma) would be considered a plus
- Broad and deep theoretical understanding of job function
