Senior Manager Tax

PURPOSE & FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

The overall objective of Corporate Tax is to create value for the global enterprise, business units, and shareholders by maximizing corporate profitability through minimizing overall tax burden while executing and directing compliance to conform with all legal frameworks in preserving the Company’s reputation and integrity.

 

OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION

The Corporate Tax team is responsible for managing the groups risk positions and governing the tax compliance. In this role it is essential to develop understanding of the impact certain transactions or business initiatives might have to be able to liaise and support the specialist functions.

The Senior Manager Tax Digital & Transformation translates the global indirect tax and tax digital strategy into scalable technology, process and governance solutions. The role is the primary transformation lead between Corporate Tax, Global IT, GBS, regional and functional tax teams, external advisors and technology providers.

The position drives digital transformation of the tax function by coordinating the implementation, upgrade and optimization of tax technology products, improving tax data and analytics capabilities, and supporting global process standardization across tax determination, reporting, compliance, controls and audit readiness.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead global tax technology initiatives and translate the Director Tax roadmap into executable programs and releases.
  • Coordinate implementation and upgrade of tax technology products used by the global tax team and relevant business stakeholders.
  • Support the identification, design and implementation of AI use cases to improve tax processes.
  • Act as functional tax product owner for assigned tax technology solutions, including prioritization, requirements, design alignment, testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
  • Support strategic decisions on internal versus external tax technology solutions and help evaluate technology options based on compliance, scalability, governance and efficiency.
  • Drive tax input into SAP S/4HANA and related tax system initiatives, with focus on tax determination, VAT/GST and withholding tax process requirements.
  • Support global eInvoicing and real-/near-time eReporting initiatives from a tax functional perspective, including technical requirements definition and deployment support.
  • Manage relationships with external tax technology providers, advisors and service providers for assigned transformation initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong indirect tax knowledge with ability to translate tax requirements into technology and process design.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end tax processes including tax determination, reporting, compliance, controls and audit support.
  • Experience with SAP ECC & S/4HANA or comparable ERP environments; experience with tax engines, compliance tools or reporting platforms is an advantage.
  • Strong project and product management skills, including prioritization, stakeholder management and delivery governance.
  • Analytical mindset with affinity for data, automation, controls and AI-enabled process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • High degree of ownership, structured working style and ability to work independently in a global environment.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Information Systems or equivalent background.
  • Professional tax/accounting qualifications or comparable experience is beneficial.
  • Approximately 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in indirect tax, tax technology, tax transformation, ERP implementation or Big 4 advisory.
  • Proven experience in global projects, process transformation or technology-driven tax initiatives.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
